Good morning,
We have been using Devolutions Hub Business for over two years.
About a year ago, I had a support session regarding slowness and freezing issues with the browser extension in both Edge and Chrome. We currently have 635 entries in our IT vault. When synchronizing the vault online using Devolutions Hub Business (now Cloud), attempting to autofill a password on a webpage takes 1–2 minutes for the vault to load the entries, which freezes the browser.
Conversely, when we synchronize directly from RDM, the process is instant and does not crash. Is this a known issue? It has been an ongoing problem for a long time. Support previously advised us to use RDM sync, but this workaround requires us to keep RDM open at all times for the synchronization to work.

Hi,
Are you on Windows, macOS (Intel or Apple Silicon) or Linux?
Ae you in a Terminal Server or Citrix environment?
If the extension is fast when connected to RDM but slow when connected to Devolutions Cloud, the issue might be related to browser storage being slowed down by something in the environment, such as EDR scanning Chrome profile files, roaming Windows profiles, a Chrome profile stored in OneDrive, Dropbox, or another network-synced folder, or a slow or overloaded disk.
Do you use other extensions at the same time? Does the issue happen in a new browser profile?
Could you record a video using a test website, such as https://authenticationtest.com/simpleFormAuth/, that shows the issue as it occurs today? You can send it to me via direct message.
Best regards,
Olivier Désalliers
Hi,
Thank you for the response.
We are using Windows workstations, mainly with Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome. This is not in a Terminal Server or Citrix environment.
The issue occurs when the browser extension is connected directly to Devolutions Hub Business / Devolutions Cloud. When the extension synchronizes through Remote Desktop Manager, the autofill process is instant and does not freeze the browser.
Our IT vault currently contains approximately 635 entries. When using Devolutions Cloud synchronization from the browser extension, the browser can freeze for 1–2 minutes while loading the vault entries before autofill becomes available.
We do have EDR protection enabled in our environment, so it is possible that browser profile storage or extension storage is being scanned. However, the fact that the same vault works instantly through RDM synchronization makes us think the issue may be specific to how the browser extension handles the vault when connected directly to Devolutions Cloud.
We will test the following and report back:
A new browser profile with only the Devolutions extension installed
Edge and Chrome separately
A workstation without a roaming or OneDrive-synced browser profile
Whether EDR exclusions on browser profile or extension storage make any difference

Hi,
Thank you for sending us the video.
It looks like the popup takes some time to load even when you are not logged in to Devolutions Cloud. This suggests that the issue is likely not related to the number of vaults, entries, or other items in the Cloud workspace.
One possibility is that a file, which is not used when connected through RDM, is being loaded when connected to Devolutions Cloud and is taking longer than expected to load. There is a way to check which files the browser is trying to load from disk for the extension, and whether any of them are pending or loading for longer than usual. This could help us better understand what is happening in your environment.
I will send you a video via direct message showing how to check this. The process is simple and straightforward.
Best regards,
Olivier Désalliers
