iPad SQL Data Source Depreciated

Having a SQL Server data source is now depreciated and shows you the properties but doesn't allow you to connect. I have 3 single user licenses, do I have to purchase a hub of some sort or is there a different connection I can do to connect to my devices? We want our hub to be behind the firewall, we don't want it on a public server.
