Impossible to use key file

avatar

Hello,

On Android 16 on RDM version 2025.2.2.2 i cant use my ssh key files in the "File (local)" mode, but i can copy the key and paste them in the "Embedded data" and it's working.
It just says it can't connect.

Cheers

Hi,

Just to clarify, when you say you can’t use your SSH key files in File (local) mode, do you mean that you are unable to save the key file when configuring your SSH connection, or that the connection fails when you try to open it?

Also, when you mention that copying the key and pasting it into the Embedded data field works, do you mean that you are able to save the embedded data but the connection fails when you try to use it?

If that’s the case, when you edit the saved session, can you confirm whether the embedded data you previously saved is still there?

Finally, could you provide us with the application version number?

To clarify :

-When i use File (local) with my key file, it's saved in the connection profile but when i want to connect, it fails.
-When i use Embedded data, it's saved in the connection profile and i can connect to my server.

Hi,

Thank you for clarifying. Could you let me know what type of data source you are using, and whether you are opening the saved session on the same device where it was created?

Depending on the data source, some can be shared across multiple devices and platforms, so I’d like to rule out any potential causes related to that.

Also, could you confirm which session type you are using: SSH Terminal, SSH Port Forward, or SSH Tunnel?

To help us out, we would also need the application version number.

Everything is local, the key file is on my android, the session has been created locally on my app and i'v tried to recreate an other key file on the android because the original file was comming from a Debian OS, none of that worked.

It's a SSH Terminal session !

I already wrote the application version in the first post.
