8.9.2.0 - Document Sessions

Team,

I added two MS word files to my session list and chose the "Store in database" option. I then exported the two sessions to ".rdm" and I imported both from my work PC to my home PC and now both do not seem to work as then session information came over but not the actual data. Now when I did the export the only options were "Include credentials" & "Use Master Key". Maybe an Include Document would be needed??? I checked again and I have the documents (2) in my SQL DB at work but they didn't make the trip over on the export to my home PC.

Hi,
This would be impossible to export them. Those documents could be really big. You will need to save them back. I really don't plan to include those document neither in the export or the offline mode.

Sorry about that.

That's ok, I will remove the files then and keep them on HD for critical items and web or flash for non-critical items like phone listing which is what I was initially looking into.

Question... would it be possible if I choose to add documents small sized DOC, XLS, TXT, PPT, PDF etc would it be possible for example to take a TXT audit file and make a Sub Item similar to a sub connection? I know I can take the txt file and make an rdp connection as a sub connection however I want it to be the other way around. The desired end result would have an rdp connection as the parent and a text file or doc as a sub item to assist like an audit file or something. Unless I am missing something already in place as I know I can add in all of my workstation audit files into the DB or into a folder on my "C" drive and have links in RDM but I wanted to see if I could possibly "link" documents to an RDP session.

In the picture below I took the RDP session and made that a sub connection of the TXT file. Before that action I changed the icon of both to show what I was trying to accomplish in having a document a sub item of a session connection.

Hi,
Sorry for the small delay. This is a bug and I will fix it really quickly. RDM just does not open the right dialog.

Sweet, glad to hear it! Thanks David.

Another thing I found while using the document type "Text". Using a text session as a template will not keep the contained template text, if I add a new document session from this text template.
The template itself still has its text, but the newly created session will not.

Hi,
I'm not sure what I can do the text template because it's saved as a private attachment. I will enter a bug for that.

Hello,

We started using the document session with the type Excel and Word asking to store in the database. Once added to the database, how can we modify the contents?

Thanks

Unfortunately it's more the static document. We will add the possibility to update it before the end of the beta.
