Keyboard Shortcut

How would I map the F4 key to execute "show environment" when I'm on a CISCO device, but when I'm on a BROCADE device I would like F4 to execute "show chassis".

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding this,

Could you please specify the version of RDM you are currently using?
What type of data source are you using?

There is not currently a way to perform this from my understanding, that being said, would creating a typing macro type entry and performing a "Right-click" on your SSH entry in your "Navigation Pane" and going under "Macro/Script/Tools" then selecting this entry to execute it work in your case?

Currently running 2025.2.23.0 64-bit (JIT) with XML datastore. I guess a useful feature would be the ability to assign an F key to a Macro command at a per HOST configuration. But, to answer your question, right clicking on the host and going to Macros/Scripts/Tools does work.

Hello,

Thank you for your reply,

I see, in that case, could you try the Keyboard shortcut option? We have the following knowledge base article regarding this:
https://docs.devolutions.net/rdm/kb/how-to-articles/keyboard-shortcuts-customization/#create-shortcut-macros-windows

You can enter what you wish to be typed in the Macro field and by changing the "Mode" to "Global Hotkey" and using "Execute in current tab" it seem to achieve what you are looking for.

Let me know if this helps,

The global hotkey works. I guess we can use F4 and F5 between the two different models until maybe someday being able to do a hotkey assignment per host.

Hello,

Thank you for your reply,

Glad to hear that works for you! If that is something you would like to see implemented, I would recommend you create a feature request for it.

We have a forum section for this,

This allows our community to submit/share ideas with our development, service desk, and management teams. It’s also an opportunity for our community to demonstrate an interest in your idea. We use this interest to prioritize the features we implement.

Kindly post your idea on our forum at
