Navigation Bar shrinks automatically

Good afternoon.

Has anyone else reported the Navigation Bar automatically shrinking and having to re-expand it in order to make sense of anything that's in there?

I am currently set up with this view:




After some clicks here and there (doesn't seem to be just one thing that makes it do it) I now have went to this view:

One time it did it I minimized RDM and when I expanded it, it was that new view. Another time I clicked from my Favorites list to the Navigation list. There is honestly no rhyme or reason as to why it does it.
