RDP Android Barcode scanning

avatar

Hi, I wanted to try your RDP application to scan barcodes in warehouse, but the application does not recognize them. I am using a Cipherlab RK95. Is there something I should activate in settings or something? We are using Windows Server. Thanks.

Hello,

When you mention that the application does not recognize them, do you mean that nothing appears on the screen when you scan? Additionally, based on the documentation for the Cipherlab RK95, it appears possible to modify the Keyboard Emulation settings in the ReaderConfig (options include None, InputMethod, and KeyEvent). Could you please confirm which emulation setting you are currently using?

Hello, while scanning nothing showed up on the screen, but I changed the Keyborad Emulations settings from Default to KeyEvent and it works! Thanks for help, we will test RDP system.

Hello, I have one more problem, while scanning a code, it scans, but also it probably triggers the "enter". I mean in our system when clicking "enter" on keyboard it triggers pop-up menu, when I want to scan a code, it scans, read the code, but after a while it triggers "enter" and popups the menu. What could be wrong?
I checked another application RDP (microsoft) and it doesn't trigger the "enter" so it should be something in your application.
Thanks for help.

EDIT: In our scanner is default application preinstalled with screen button to scan and when we use screen button it doesnt trigger "enter".

Hello,

Thank you for your response. The scanners we have internally do have the option to send the "Enter" or "Tab" key after scanning. However, if we understand correctly, you are indicating that yours does not do this, regardless of the application in use—from utility apps like Notes to remote apps like Microsoft RDP, is that correct?

Additionally, what is the Android version of your device?

Hello,
Thank you for your response. I have checked the Microsoft RDP and Notes preinstalled in system, but it doesn't trigger anything on keyboard when I click the scan button.
I was testing few more things and It does not necessarily have to be "enter". I turned on the on-screen keyboard and pressed various buttons. The popup menu pops up not only when you press enter, it also pops up when you press any button. This is the feature of application we use, so I misled you with this “enter”. So scan button triggers something on keyboard in your application.
The scanner we are using has Android 13.
I checked also preinstalled apps that comes with scanner, but didn't find anything.

We use also one-finger scrolling in your application. I saw that if we type anything on on-screen keyboard, scrolling stops working, then I need to back to menu of our application and open the project again, but we dont need to close completely your app. What could be wrong?
Currently we have those 2 problems.
Thanks for help

Hello,

It's quite unusual that pressing any key prompts the menu.

Could you try enabling the "Disable local IME" option in the RDM settings? You can find this under Settings, then Session Settings, followed by Unified Remote Connection Settings. If that doesn’t resolve the issue, please disable it. Additionally, to ensure we fully understand the issues, could you send us a brief video demonstrating both problems? This will help us ensure that we are investigating and addressing the correct concerns.

Hello,
unfortunately "disable local IME" didn't work. I was checking few things and i changed my mind. It trigger's "enter". Due to company policy I can't show anything. Im not the administrator, sorry.
We started to use your application because it works a lot better than Microsoft RDP, but we have those two problems (Enter while scanning and scrolling after screen keyboard). Thank you for your willingness to help.
