Session Recording Retention Option

We already have a ticket for this planned for this development cycle, so it could come out with the release of 2024.3 later this year.
We plan to add a configuration for user to specify how long they want their videos to be kept, after which the scheduler would delete them automatically.

Recording a session is always a company policy. A normal users shouldn't be allowed to remove a recorded session.

Sorry for the confusion; I was not precise enough.

We plan to add the default value for this setting under Administration > System Settings > Recording Server, so only users who can access System Settings will be able to change that value.
After that, this setting will also be editable per Gateway, so users who have the permission 'Administrators' under Administration > System Permission > Module > Gateway will be able to edit the Gateway's own retention option, but not the system-wide default value.

Normal users without any of these rights won't be able to change these settings.

I'm guessing as I'm running 2024.3 and can't see the option, this was not added?
Any idea when it would be?

Hi,

You are right; we had to delay the release of this feature until our next version, 2025.1, which will be launched in January. Also, I want to point out that it will only be available in 'System settings'. It won't be possible to change this setting on individual Gateway as I said above.

Since the release of 2025.1, it's now possible to configure a cleanup of Devolutions Gateway recordings after a specific time.
