HTTP Basic Authentication form doesn't fill in the credentials

avatar

If I'm trying to use the Devolutions Workspace extension plugin in Edge, Chrome or Firefox and having a website with a basic http authentication form like https://httpbin.org/basic-auth/user/passwd then the saved credentials in Devolutions Workspace doens't fill in the form. Is there a solutions for this issue?

This are my settings in the website entry:

Hi,

Right now, login with basic authentication using credentials from Remote Desktop Manager is only available/supported when opening the website directly in Remote Desktop Manager embedded with Chrome or Edge.

We will open a ticket to investigate at ways to support it in Devolutions Workspace browser extension connected to a Remote Desktop Manager.

Thank you for your fast response. For now this solution to open the session from the RDM client is fine. Good to hear that a new ticket is opened to investigate to support this functionality in the Devolutions Workspace browser extension. Is it possible that I'm getting informed within this support ticket? so I can inform my colleagues with the latest status update.

Hi,

It is an internal ticket for the development team.

We will keep you informed in this thread.

What is the status of this issue? Will Basic Auth come to Browser Extension?

Hi,

Since the original request date, we have updated the browser extension to comply with the new practices and requirements introduced by Manifest V3, as mandated by Google Chrome.

We will conduct an analysis to assess how Basic Authentication functions with browser extensions under these updated standards.

Probably you can check, how KeepassXC Extension did that, I believe those are auch Manifest V3 and have the possibility.
