Better naming for Permission settings

Hi!

Trying to change permissions in DVLS, I'm confused about what the options mean.

There's Allowed, Disallowed, Everyone, Never.

As far as I understand Everyone is the same as Allowed, and Never is the same as Disallowed, right?
I think it would make sense to change the name of these options to just Allow and Disallow

Hello,

You are correct, the only reason it says Disallowed or Allowed is that it is set to default. It should say Everyone or Never instead.

If you change the permissions to inherited, it does change to Everyone/Never instead of Allowed/Disallowed.

I moved your post to the feature request section of DVLS.

Best regards,

I think Allow/Disallow makes more sense than Everyone/Never. Maybe "Allow everyone" and "Disallow everyone" instead?

Anyway, Thanks for the reply! Where did I post initially? I thought I was in DVLS feature requests.

Hello Daniel,

Thank you for your suggestion. We had discussion around that and we agreed that it can be confusing. I don't have an ETA since we are working hard to release a new version soon, but we will work to improve that.

Hello Daniel,

I wanted to let you know that version 2024.1 has been released and terminology Everyone/Never have been renamed by Allowed/Disalowed as discussed here in this thread.

Don't hesitate if you have other questions/comments.

Best regards,
