Permissions settings

Permissions settings

I need help about permissions because I can't really understand the mechanics by myself.

I want to create different vaults with different access, like:

  • VAULT-A
  • VAULT-B

In Azure AD, we created different groups for our users, like:

  • vault_a_contributors;
  • vault_a_managers;
  • vault_b_contributors;
  • vault_b_managers.

We have set no vaults permissions under "System Permissions" settings, as we understand that those will applied to all vaults (a sort of default root permissions): is it right?

Under each vaults, we set group mapping to roles (f.e. in VAULT-A, vault_a_contributors > contributors).

We tried some users but member of (f.e.) vault_a_contributors can't see the vault.

Moreover, should be possible to manage different permissions between folders inside the same vault? For example:
VAULT-A
|__________FOLDER-A (some users)
|__________FOLDER-B (some others)

If yes, how?

Any help?

Thanks.

Hello,

Have you set the permissions in your vault settings ?

You can right-click the root of your vault in the navigation pane and select "Properties" to enter the vault settings and from there choose the permissons you wish to give your users/user groups through out the vault.

Afterwards, if you wish to be more granular with folders and entries, I would suggest following this Help article regardings permissions to have a better understanding of how they work.

Thanks but I'm talking about PH web interface, not through RDM (I have users that don't use it).

Hello,

My mistake, in that case you can verify how roles and permissions work in Password HUB in this Online Help page: https://helphub.devolutions.net/roles_and_permissions.html

And in this article you'll find how you can add and manage the vaults you create: https://helphub.devolutions.net/web_interface_administration_vaults_roles_permissions.html
