Agent software?

My Primary computer is Linux Desktop. ( get very frustrated working in Windows)
The Windows (Work) Computer is on the same Lan. I have Remote Desktop Manager Free installed on Linux Desktop.
They have used Group Policy to lock down RPC but I have been set as an allowed user to remote in.
The IT team often struggles to connect to remote users and often uses other products like any connect, Teamviewer.
I have used Remote Desktop Manager for some years now on Windows but am very new to the Linux version of the product.
I have tested another windows computer to connect to and it worked well, but maybe the group policy is blocking this request.
I then remembered that Devolution had Wayk Now agent that could be installed on the remote computer and then use Remote Desktop Manager to connect to the agent.
But for some reason, I cannot find that option in the Linux version. I tried to check the log and reports but I don't see any.
I also tried to use the Anydesk option installed on the Windows computer and add a new Anydesk connection from the Remote desktop manager on the Linux computer and that did not go down well.
I then also wanted to connect to Virtualbox Servers that I have on my local Linux computer but that option was not there as well.
Are these options missing because it's Linux or because it is a free version? Is there a known limitation list for the Linux version of Remote Desktop Manager, Is there a separate manual for the Linux version?

Hello,

Thank you for contacting us on that matter!

The Wayk Now product is not available anymore, you can read more on that subject here : https://blog.devolutions.net/2021/07/wayk-is-dead-long-live-wayk/

For the time being, we do not plan on developing a different remote access application, so we do not offer any alternatives for remote connections.

With that being said, I would like to verify what you currently use to connect from your Linux workstation to your remote hosts, outside of RDM. It might be possible to replicate this connection in RDM.

Best regards,

Not sure what this means but I have remote desktop manager free on my Linux workstation but I am unable to connect to my windows laptop using RDP.
I have verified that the user I am using is allowed to connect to the laptop remotely.
If you can give me the steps to "Replicate Connection"

Hello,

I'm sorry if I was unclear, I was trying to verify what RDP application you use outside of RDM from this computer?

The reason I ask is that although RDM can be used to launch RDP sessions, its main purpose is as a wrapper and manager around existing remote access technologies. It is not a replacement to them.

To sum this up, we would need to verify if the same issue occurs outside of RDM to verify if the issue originates from RDM or from an external source like the RDP engine or the remote computer. If the connection works outside of RDM, then we could use the same settings within RDM and it should allow the connection to work properly. This is what I meant when I mentioned replicating the configuration.
