- "My Personal Credentials" improvement (option to ask once and keep in memory only)
- RDP and Web entries to connect through a "secure gateway"
- Azure Key Vault
- Virtual desktop open destination

@john kenny,

We can perform a quick remote session with you to show you the new Secure Gateway if you would like. If the answer is yes, please contact us at ticket@devolutions.net so that we can schedule something together.

I tested RDP via SSH Gateway - works pretty well.

Couple of things I noticed:

Thank you, this version seems to have also improved performance overall.

Another issue I noticed (even with current release) is a problem with dual monitor setup and HDPI - when two monitors have different DPI set...
It all starts with RDM only using DPI of primary monitor and becomes itself blurry (does not change its own DPI) when dragged to secondary monitor... And then there are bunch of scaling issues with RDP windows open on secondary monitor in this type of configuration...

Thanks a lot for providing this beta version!

Hi,

Thank you for testing the beta version.

1 - VPN Group: In the help topic we informed that the VPN Group can be configured as explained in the help topic, that said I will clarify this line and add more information regarding the VPN Group.
2 - Could you confirm that you are using an SSH authentication with only the Username and a Public Key? No Private key use?
3 - I add step 2.4 in the help topic that describes how to reduce the time to 1 second or 0 if you feel comfortable that the SSH session opens instantly.

Moreover, I add a new step 1.2 which will hide the Secure Gateway window automatically.

Regarding the HDPI issue, I opened a ticket with the QA department (QA-1279), I will follow up soon.

Hello!

Thank you for looking at the items I outlined.

Regarding public key authentication - yes, I use standard authentication with agent in the following way:

I have agent start automatically and it imports key properly in beta version (and that was another issue 0 in current release version it was ignoring entered passphrase and prompting for it on each agent start).
Next, on any SSH entry which needs this key I check "Use SSH Authentication agent" in advanced tab.
All SSH entries work perfectly well if password field is blank - it is actually RDP entry using SSH Gateway which causes the password prompt to appear.

Thank you for updating the help topic - very helpful! But the screenshot, showing change of the delay is too low resolution and is not legible :(

I actually saw this setting and did not realize it was the one, because it is set to "-1" by default - what is the exact meaning of "-1" - use some global default value?

For HDPI I will create a separate topic in support area later today.

Thanks again for your help!

Hello,

The public and private key integration you mentioned without the password will be a bit hard to test. What I could suggest here is to do a remote session. I will send you an email with a link to schedule it.

The -1 value means default value of your RDM. This default value can be found under File -- Options -- Types -- VPN.

Hi!

David, I understand. Although, this can be reproduced very easily.
I scheduled remote session, but will see if I can get you more details before then (we are all busy - I also have to catch small time frames in my main work for these small issues).

I see that 2020.1.10 - I upgraded, tested again with the same online DB I have - seems to be the same issue.
Not sure if I mention this already - but problem with ssh key agent not reading key passphrases at all was fixed even in beta - auto starting agent now works fine.
Connecting to SSH works as well - uses key from agent no problem.
This issue remains - and that's what we can focus on - creating RDP entry which uses ssh tunnel as gateway will prompt for password if that ssh session has password field empty - regardless of this ssh entry being able to connect with public key auth.

If you want, we can add the following problem as well:
- Using "portable" - zip - install of RDM - does not keep ssh server keys, asking to accept every time RDM starts.
This is correlated with RDM creating temporary folders in the install location with GUID as folder name, every start having new GUID - because of this, file known_host does not persist between RDM starts.

Thank you for your support!

Hi,

Thank you a lot for taking the time to schedule a session, it will also help us fix the issue.

I had a chat with the engineering department and during the session, we will look at the password prompt issue.

The second issue we probably know what the issue is and I opened a ticket for this one.

Best regards,

David Grandolfo

Looking in to the Beta. Extremely disappointing to see there still is no way to edit User Specific settings on CyberArk Entries nor seemingly any way to create Personal (per user) custom variables.

Can't download the latest 2021.1.9 beta anymore for the Enterprise version. I think the Azure CDNs are having issues due to yesterday's outage?

I'm trying to reinstall the latest beta as I'm currently having a few weird issues. RDM would freeze and become unresponsive after I leave it for a couple of hours.

Also, when I check for Updates, I'm getting this:

I'm always using the latest beta RDM x64 version.

Hello,
I have fixed the download links. It was http instead of https and we have enforced the SSL. Are you using RDM Enterprise or RDM Free? You can fix this error with a repair. The installer was removing a lib in the cleanup process.
