Hi Guys,
some of our users love to use the SAP GUI FrontEnd AddOn in RDM, but since SAP GUI 7.40 no Saplogon.ini is used anymore, instead it uses SAPUILandscape.xml. After a few attempts to configure it, i realized that the AddOn does not seem to support the new SAP systems file. A quick search in the forum showed only older posts regarding that subject with no successfull ending.
If i try to create a custom connection string based on our SAPUILandscape.xml i receive the error "Unable to read ini file" like the other guys from the older threads did. Is there any hope for this AddOn or will it not be developed any further?
Best regards,
Hermann

Anything new here?
And is it possible to get an SAP NWBC AddOn?
Hello,
We haven't yet had the resources to dedicate to reworking the SAP GUI add-on.
For SAP NWBC, do you know if they have a command line interface?

Hubert Mireault
Hi Hubert,
thanks.
That's all I could find for NWBC
https://help.sap.com/doc/saphelp_nwpi71/7.1/en-US/45/a6142e45db0d36e10000000a114a6b/content.htm?no_cache=true

Hello,
For NWBC, they list the following command line:
"<local path for the NWBCClient.exe" /user=<user name> password=<password> /connection="<connection name from the configuration dialog>"
With the following example:
"C:\Program Files\SAP\FrontEnd\SAPgui\NWBCClient.exe" /user=anzeiger password=display /connection="WDA Testsuite"
Could you give this a try on your machine to see if this works properly? Since we don't have an SAP infrastructure, we can't test it, so I'd like to make sure this would work for the NWBC implementation. If it does, we'll open a ticket to work on this.

Hubert Mireault
Hello Hubert,
in our NWBC Package the exe file is called NWBC.exe instead of NWBCClient.exe which is strange since its an official SAP package, also the parameters didn't work at all for me. I also tried to find some parameter in the NWBC manual but with no success, no parameters at all. I will ask our internal SAP Team if they can provide me any information regarding the command line parameters of the SAP NWBC.
FYI, tested with NWBC 7.0 Patchlevel 3

Hermann
Thank you Hermann, please keep us updated on the matter. :)

Hey, i found an old post from David about this
But i could only find it via Google not the search function of the Forum.
https://forum.devolutions.net/forum/topic17843-sap-netweaver-business-client-integration.aspx
Finally is there any way to use the new file with the connections setup (SAPUILandscape.xml)?
I have installed the new SAP GUI .that does not use anymore SAPLOGON.INI file.
How can I add the new connections especially the ones with GROUP/SERVER option.
Thanks
Eli
Hello,
Hermann has given us a lot of information regarding what we could do to support not only SAP NWBC, but also the newer versions of SAP GUI. For SAP GUI, we are planning to use the sapshcut.exe application. It doesn't seem to support using the SAPUILandscape file directly, as it seems to be working quite differently from our current integration of SAP GUI. Unfortunately, this is the only solution we have.
As for a time frame, we've been focusing on fixing bugs that came up after the release of RDM 2020.1.X, but we are hoping to be able to work on this after clearing out the majority of these issues.
