Hi everyone,

I try to start the SAP GUI (Session) Plugin and get this Errormessage.

My configuration:
Saplogon file: C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\SAP\Common\SAPUILandscape.xml

And i configured the three fields (in Custom Connection):

Host
SystemNo

SID

I found one topic with similar Problem (4 years ago), but they used the old method with the saplogon.ini file. On my PC, there is no saplogon.ini file.

In this old topic one solution was:
Have you configured the appropriate installation path in File -> Options -> Path -> Configure Installation Path for SAP?

But in my new RDM Version, there I can't find a field for "Configure Installation Path for SAP").

RDM Version: 2019.1.21.0

Hello,

It's possible to change the installation path via the File -> Options -> Path menu.
Is this what you we're looking for?

Hi,

oh my god. It's sooo easy. You are right, even the old topic was right. Of course it's in the RDM File menu. I thought File had to be found in the SAP GUI Plugin configurations.

Now it works fine.

Thanks a lot.

Hello, sorry to resurrect this thread, but what can I do if I can't enter the path to the SAP gui anywhere?

Hello,

In order for you to be able to set the SAP GUI path in RDM under File -> Options -> Path -> Configure Path, you will first need to enable the "SAP Frontend Server (SAP GUI)" add-on.

To do so, please go under the "Tools" section of RDM's ribbon, click on "Add-on Manager", type in "SAP" in the search field, select "SAP Frontend Server (SAP GUI)" and click on "Activate Add-on":

Let us know if that helps!

Hi James,
thank you for your reply on this old thread!

Well the option below (SAP frontend server) was not visible at the location you mentioned. I think maybe because we installed the SAP gui *after* the installation of RDM?

My solution was to download the paths from another user, and upload it on my system. After the option mentioned above was visible and I could enter the path from the SAP gui.
Everything worked fine after that.

Ron.
