Since Installing Wayk Now 3.0.3 rdp stopped working but using the ip in Wayk Now gives error??
Im trying to use Wayk now to an IP address, it asks for credentials which i give but it fails with:-
Channel Subsystem Failure
Anyideas what that could be?? Also why has RDP stopped working since installing Wayk now unattended access?
Thanks

Hello,
Do you have any other way to access the computer, either physically, with VMWare console or Citrix console?
Best Regards,
Etienne Lord
yeah currently using Vcenter.

Hello,
With the installation of WaykNow 3.0.1.0, there is a possibility that the installation "deletes" the RDP service, so you are not able to connect to they computer remotely. But it actually removes the ServiceDll registery key.
When looking at your services, the Remote Desktop Services will not be Started, if you try to start it up, you will get the following error![]()
You will have to manually create the ServiceDll registery key (Window + R → Regedit)
2.1. The path of the missing key is the following : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\TermService\Parameters2.2. You will need to create a new Expandable String Value and name it Servicedll
2.3. You will then have to modify the key and set the Value data to : %SystemRoot%\System32\termsrv.dll

Lastly, you will have to go back in to your services and manually start your Remote Desktop Services ![]()
[/ol]
From there, you should be able to connect to using RDP and WaykNow normally.
Best Regards,
Etienne Lord
OK thats how to re-enable the RDP service but that doesnt explain why Im seeing the exact same error when trying to connect via a DEN ID?

Hello,
This was indeed to recover the Remote Desktop Services in order to connect using RDP, I thought it would also fix the error that you get, my apologies. About that error, I've contacted the engineering department in order to see what can cause this.
Best Regards,
Etienne Lord
Hello John,
Is it a first installation or it is an update from a previous version ? If you had wayk installed, what was the version ? Also, could you validate that you have a file "WaykHost.exe" in the installation folder (C:\Program Files\Devolutions\Wayk Now) ? If the file is there, the second thing to validate is the processes running. Please validate that you don't have a process WaykHost.exe or NowSession.exe running. If you have one, please kill them, restart the service Wayk Now Unattended and try again. Please let us know if it works or not after that.
Best regards

Hi,
I don't think the error with schannel is related to Wayk Now, since we do not use schannel. If Wayk Now says den access is disabled, it is because it was unable to connect to the local system service, or the system service was unable to connect to Wayk Den. Could you try enabling the logs from the service so we can figure out what goes wrong? Instructions are available here: https://forum.devolutions.net/topic30636-wayk--beta-.aspx#post122355
