Is there a chance to have an add/on for openstack/heat ?
Hello,
Do you know if they offer an API, SDK or Command Line?
Best regards,
Mark Beausejour
Hello Mark,
You can find bellow the link you need:
https://developer.openstack.org/api-guide/quick-start/
https://docs.openstack.org/heat/pike/
Best regards,
An Openstack access tool would also help us tremendously, any word on the availability?
Hello,
The add-on is not developed yet, but I will have a chat with our engineering department and see with them if it's possible to create an add-on or not.
Thank you for your interest.
Best regards,
Jeff Dagenais
Hello,
Just to confirm, were you also interested in OpenStack Heat or were you interested in a different integration from OpenStack?
Additionally, what kind of functionalities do you envision the add-on to possess? OpenStack Heat seems to have a lot of functionalities for managing its cloud instances and such, and making a console (like our Azure console) might be better than creating a add-on. What do you think?

Hi Hubert, I'm not sure what the OpenStack Heat does (Still new with OpenStack) but I'm looking for something similar to what you have dome with VMware and Citrix XEN. A way to access servers and environments at the OpenStack host level??
Joe,
I think we would need to integrate Heat to let you manage the OpenStack environments. Taking a quick look at the orchestration service command line, it looks to be able to do what you wish for. The way we would do this in RDM is by using the REST API which should be able to do the same things. If you could confirm that Heat is what you're looking for as far as functionality, it would be really helpful for us so we can know what to shoot for.
Due to the complexity of the integration, I think we would be better doing a full on integration rather than an add-on, as we do with our consoles (like VMWare, for example).

Hubert Mireault
Hubert, Yes I agree a full on integration would be best :-) Thank You
