Second Monitor option not working

Second Monitor option not working

Upgraded to Windows Insider 16179 and have Beta RDM 12.4.8

Each RDP connection is configured to External - Monitor #2 but when opening the connections it does not open on Monitor #2 but rather #1.

No matter what setting is selected it does not seem to work. Any suggestions?

Hi,
I will ask to verify if we can something. Are you able to reproduce that on another machine?

I do not have another machine with dual monitors to test with unfortunately.

Hello,

I'm currently trying to set up dual monitors with build 16179.

If you try through MSTSC.exe with the option "Use all my monitors for the remote session", do you have the same issue?

I tried MSTSC with that option and it works fine to extend across both monitors.

Hello,

For the monitor selection, do you use "Secondary Monitor" or "Monitor #2"?

I have tried Monitor #2 and it doesn't work but Secondary Monitor does.

Can you confirm?

Prior to the Windows 10 Insider 16179 build I used Monitor #2 which worked. I have tried both options and neither of them work for me as it always launches on the first monitor no matter what then I have to drag to monitor #2.

I am going to try an uninstall and reinstall of the Beta. I have exported my data to be safe. Will report back once done.

Removing and reinstall did not fix the issue. Still opens on primary monitor.

Quick question: What do you have in Settings -> Display on that build?

I have the same as the picture above except 1 & 2 are reversed. That is the only difference.

We have been able to reproduce your issue and a ticket has been submitted to our engineering department.


Regrettably, the Support Department cannot provide an exact release date as the full process (Build – Quality Assurance – Release) is out of our control.

Happy to report the 12.4.9 release fixed the second monitor issue and RDP connections move to my secondary monitor as they did before the issue. :cool:
