Hi there

Love the Program and im suggesting it to all my work colleagues.

2 things that i would like to see:

1. is there any way we can add import functionality for .WBX files?

2. can you add functionality to lookup .co.za domains in the whois tool as i reside in South Africa.

thanks

Hi,
#1 Do you know if the wbx file format is readable? You can use notepad to verify.

#2 Do you get an error? Do you know if we have to do something special to support this?

Thanks for the quick response

#1 - Part of it is Readable but other charecters are showing up as signs.
#2 - it doesnt seem to display anything just the last screen you viewed.

thanks for the help.

Hi,

#1 Could you send me a sample in private. I think it a proprietary format and there is nothing we can do.

#2 Could you post a real example and I will try to reproduce it.

Hi

sorry for getting back to you now only.

#1 no worries on this, i can accept that the format isn't compatible
#2 you can simply use www.google.com and www.google.co.za - if i use .com the domain displays info but as soon as i use .co.za domain it doesnt do anything it just displays the last domain you searched or if it's a new search it just displays a blank.

Hello Mr. Zheng,

I have made a few changes to the implementation we had of WhoIs and it is now possible to get a result from .co.za adresses.

However, the result might not be what you expected. If we use "google.co.za" you will receive the following message :

Registered
Not the default registrar
%referral url:http://www.coza.net.za/cgi-bin/whois.sh?Domain=google

Basically the WhoIs we use doesn't have the information on .co.za domains but will give you a link to the coza.net.za website which specializes on them.

Please note that if you type "www.google.co.za" you will receive the message "Incorrect Querry" meaning that the WhoIs that we query to doesn't accept the "www" in it's .co.za searches.

I don't think that we can hope for a better result. Would this be satisfactory for you ?

Mr Zheng,

It is possible for you to test this change without waiting for the next RDM update. To do so go in the " %localappdata%\Devolutions\RemoteDesktopManager " folder and drop the PowerToolsAddOn.dll file that I have included in this post (In the Powertools2.4.0.1.zip).
Please let us know if WhoIs works properly or not after that.

Mr Zheng,

A new version of WhoIs is now available for download here : https://remotedesktopmanager.com/Home/AddOn

This version should be accessible in either the "Session Tool" or "Application Tool" tab and contains a small bug fix that the .dll I gave you doesn't have.

Glad to have been of help !
