Unable to change AD User Groups

Unable to change AD User Groups

avatar

Hello,

I use Devolutions Server 3.1.0.0 and the latest Beta (11.1.14.0).
When adding a group/role, I have no problem. But changing brings up a messing "Unable to save the user in the database! Incorrect syntax near '/'".

I also had a crash and sent the error reports.
Is there a workaround for this?

Regards,
Georg

Hi Georg,

Could you please send me (private message if you like) screen shots of what you are changing (the values)? Do any of the fields have a "/" in its value? I'm trying to reproduce the error...

Side note the error report you sent is from the UI trying to display the data, not sure yet if they are related. This is very strange.

Could you also send us your application logs, Help -> View Application Logs -> Report -> Send to Support

Thanks

Hi,

I sent you the logs.
I will also send you a screenshot. What I did: I added a new AD group on the "Roles" Page of DVLS (in RDME). Then, I assigned the user group rights/permissions, click on "OK" and everything works.
I did something wrong and wanted to assign other rights under "Permissions". I only checked/unchecked some checkboxes in this window and the error came up.

Georg

I've found the issue (introduced in v11.1.14.0) and I'm working on the fix.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

The fix is done locally, we will submit the build to QA for testing and should be releasing the coming week.

Note: your log file contained AD type errors, not related to this issue. They look to improperly configured AD queries from on AD Synchronizer that is configured to auto sync. You might want to take a look at your AD Sync sessions.

Hi Stefane,

thanks. I have configured my AD Sync successfully via LDAP. I had over 15000 Sessions in my RDM, this caused a runtime exception. Now it should work, but I think this is not really smooth as the problem is, that it takes ages to delete them. :)
Currently, I have another problem with the AD and I will send you screenshots as private message.
Thanks for the fix!

Georg

Hello

@Georg : 15k sessions is really a large number.

Have you seen the note below http://helpserver.devolutions.net/features.htm

This isnt a hard set number because what you store in RDM will impact it, but more at more than 5k sessions you definitely should look into splitting in multiple data sources.

Maurice

Hi Maurice,

yes - I limited to our OU. Before, I sync'ed with the whole company. :D
AD sync does not work perfectly but with the LDAP string everything works fine now.

Georg
