Dear Sirs,
I have discovered your software searching for an all-in-one network connections tool and was very happy to test your creation. My present employer is asking me to connect remotely to the office using Sonic Wall NetExtender. To my surprise you have even thought about that already and are providing a nice and easy to install plugin using the Add-on manager.
So far so good, however after the installation and the initial setup, I am unable to connect to my office. What I see is a black command window with some text that disappears in a few seconds, then a counter for the preset delay of the vpn connection and all windows disappear. But a simple check proofs that my VPN is not connected. On the other side, if I use the NetExtender client, it works perfectly well.
Presently I am using the trial version offered on your website and my NetExtender version is: 7.5.216 on Windows 7 Pro. The VPN connection is setup to be established if the computer cannot ping the host (I tried all available options, however VPN is not connecting). If I connect using the sonicwall app, I can disconnect properly the VPN from RDM, but something goes wrong only with the connection.
Any ideas how to have this working as I need to know whether your app will run the NetExtender before offering it to my management as the perfect tool for office network support?
Hello,
Have you tried to execute RDM with the Run As Administrator?
Regards
David Hervieux
Yes, at first I thought so and I did run it as administrator, however it does not help at all. Do you know where can I get some logs for what is going on? Maybe that will help me evaluate the issue?
I gave it a second thought that not being able to connect to NetExtender through RDM is not a much of a deal, but it will be nice to have it working so that noone should wonder is the VPN is on or not. Working from the office does not require any VPN, but working from home - I can live with running the sonic wall app before working with RDM manually.
It might be that with some updates the structure of the command line have been changed and I do understand that you have done a magnificent job and it is hard to not have any tiny glitches.
If you or anyone can confirm it is working on their side, I can setup a small home environment at home and test just to not give any false alarms based on my case.
We invoke necli.exe in command line. Could you check if it works for you?
David Hervieux
When I run is straight from the command line I get an error that the program is not found which I find normal behavior as I do not have it in the path.
When I open the program files... etc. and open the proper location, I see a bunch of necli.exe messages popping up with instructions and help about commands etc.
I could not test it last night in my home environment to confirm the safe working, however I will do tonight and report back.
Thank you very much
David Hervieux
