Went to upgrade from 10.9.9 to 10.9.12 and got prompted for a DB upgrade. Looks like quite a large jump. Is it relatively safe or is it a big change? I assume it's still fully backward to much older versions?
Is there any way to put in the release notes when a DB upgrade is required? Always comes as a surprise to me so in this case I had to go back to 10.9.9 until I can find a little window to update the DB.
Hello,
Yes it's a major upgrade but it's backward compatible. Most of the changes are for the future version of RDM.
Don't forget that's always a good idea to create a backup before the upgrade. I will add a note in the beta formum

Just to confirm, is it backward compatible all the way to version 9? I'm looking in global sessions and see a few people who haven't updated in a while (maybe when version 11 is out, might be a good time to force everyone to upgrade )
It should be compatible with this old version but anyway you might have other issues if you don't upgrade them.
For example the ARD type does not exists in RDM 9 and it's not the only one.

@foxtrot - In case you are not aware there is a feature to help you with managing RDM versions. You can specify min/max version of RDM allowed to use a data source. See here: http://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/index.html?administration_datasourcesettings.htm#versionmanagement
