Forum migration

avatar

Good morning everyone,

It’s time to move our Forums to its new home on Azure. The migration process will take about an hour and will start today (Nov-28-2012) at 10:00am (EST - UTC/GMT - 5 hours).

Of course there will be some lag time due to DNS redirecting. To help with this we have temporarily setup http://forum2.devolutions.net/ to reference the new Forum servers. Once backup all account and settings will remain the same.

If you encounter any issues please let us know.

Thanks

The link I got in a thread update notification doesn't work - I think it's missing a /

<offTopic>I just found a neat trick worth sharing: When you copy text from websites and paste it in the forum, you often get formatting or links with it.
In Firefox and Chrome, when you press Ctrl + Shift + V to paste, it pastes just plain text and leaves out the format.</offTopic>

I get a 404 page from the link in the email:
http://forum.devolutions.net/topic2318-forum-migration.aspx?lastpage=1#post12986

the domain name seems to be wrong (forum.devolutions.net vs. forum2.devolutions.net)

odd, both are referencing the same IP (65.52.232.192) and both are working on my side.

OK my DNS seems to be not updated yet....

still "ipconfig /flushdns" did not fix it.

let's wait and see...

Do you use chrome? It had this problem with the Chrome cache yesterday

indeed

though it's not chrome's DNS cache but my router or ISP

and the domain TTL is 8 hours so it can take that long until it's updated worldwide
