Hi all,
The next version will contains an SDK to create AddOn to any unsupported product / session type. I will post more information as soon as it's available. My internal build already support the AddOn and really excited about that. It will be easy to create a plugin, you will have to learn little bit of .NET (c# / vb.NET), but I will provide samples to help you.

Would this allow us to also add custom session types to the quick connect box? That would be really helpful.

Hi,
Yes, it will possible. The first preview is limited and the doc is very limited, I will post more information soon with samples.
The final SDK will also support embedded mode.

How soon? I see the latest beta (5.6.0.13) has a link to the AddOn page, but the page doesn't seem to be live yet. I'm eager to put my programming hat on (I'm a sysadmin) and start tinkering :)

Yes the link is here but the web site... it's coming really soon and the first AddOn will be SQL Server.

It's already available but the documentation is limited. There is many samples available here:
