Dell iDrac 6/7/8 IE/Chrome/Firefox Help!

So I was having an annoying problem with script errors when using RDM on Windows Server 2008 R2 with IE9. I've recently moved to a new mgmt server with Windows Server 2012 R2 with IE11. Now I find out that iDrac 6/7 isn't compatible currently with IE11, which is the base version of IE in Windows Server 2012 R2. I'd actually prefer not to use IE but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to get Firefox or chrome to work through RDM. I can get them to work independently and not through RDM.

Question: Are there procedures to setup iDrac via Firefox/Chrome so that it works and it fills in the username/password? I have installed IE/Chrome/Firefox extensions, albeit the Firefox one says it isn't installed (in RDM), while Firefox says the RDM extension is installed. When I connect with Firefox through RDM, the circle spins but I never see the login page for iDrac.

Are you guys building a iDrac add-on? I noticed you have the iLO for HP.

Thanks
Ben

Hello,

The iDrac support is definitely in our todo list, but its not assigned yet.

With version 10 we have included an embedded Chrome browser, we can work together to get it working. We could also try to set the compatibility mode of IE to simulate a lower version.

You can contact us at support@devolutions.net to move this process along.

Best regards,

Has this feature been "assigned" yet? I was able to get everything working with one of your support personnel using Chrome and macros... but when Chrome updates it breaks everything. PLEASE put this as a priority. I think you can assume that MANY of your users of this product have Dell servers to manage.

Thanks

Hi Ben,
the problem that we have is the idrac access. Do you know how we could have a test platform? Perhaps a VPN to access one of your server? Most of the time we only need to access the html. We don't need the credentials.

Hello,
I nice gentlemen gave me access to an iDrac. So far I've been able to make it work with Google embedded. It's not perfect for now.

I had to check the Ignore certificate error, use embedded Chrome and manually click on the Auto-fill button. I will continue my investigation to resolve the auto-fill problem.

That sounds great! The problem with it not being an add-on is when Google Chrome changes.

It should not be a problem. The component that we use includes his own Chromium version compiled and deployed with RDM.

First off... This is flipping awesome!!! Question though, when I "Launch Virtual Console" I assume I'm going to use Java. It launches a windows with "Do you want to execute or save" viewer.jnlp (ip info/username/password) Execute | Save | Save As

Java version I'm using: Version 8 Update 40 (build 1.8.0_40-b25)

Thanks

Hello,
For now we support the the console not the remote access. This will be the next step but I'm not sure if we will be able to make it work.
