We started using the Firefox add-on. We've noticed a couple issues.
1) After installing the add-on, it seems that all saved passwords in Firefox have been discarded
2) Even after re-entering saved passwords, passwords do not seem to save/work correctly.
Any ideas on this? The add-on works great for plugging passwords into Firefox that are saved in RDM, but for passwords that are not kept in the RDM database, it seems to not work so well.
Thanks!
Hello,
In the Firefox options, Security, Saved Passwords, do you see usernames in there?
Please press on "Show passwords", do you see your passwords as well?
Maurice
Ok, I just clarified a few things, I guess I'll need to improve the documentation
Our firefox extensions replace the storage layer for credentials in Firefox, when the extension is loaded and you go in security then go in Saved Passwords, then click on show passwords, you will see the passwords as
"Stored in Password Vault Manager"
In order to have access to your old credentials, you need to disable or remove our extension.
The way to use multiple login managers in Firefox, is in fact to use multiple profiles, each one having a single Login Manager.
I do tests with keepass, Lastpass, RDM, and PVM all the time, and I manage extensions manually each time, but I will now move to using profiles.
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles
I also found a nice add-on that will allow me to set the title as I wish, in this case by adding the current profile in the title bar...
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/nightly-tester-tools/
I'm afraid there's no way around this, I hope the proposed solution will be satisfactory to you
Maurice
Thanks.
Using profiles does not seem to solve anything for me. Yes... It functions as advertised, but does not seem provide a useable solution, as I would have to constantly switch profiles, in order to use saved passwords. UNLESS there is a way to save my passwords when the RDM add-on is enabled.
My other question has not yet been answered. It seems related (i had posted it separately). See the attached screen shot. What are these entries that are showing up automatically in my RDM session list? It seems to be some sort of attempt to save passwords from when I or another user has attempted to save passwords for a site, in Firefox after having installed the RDM add-on. This is going to be a real mess as time goes on.

Its an architectural feature of Firefox, only one login manager at a time per profile.
What your screenshot shows in exactly that, firefox used our extension to store credentials. Thats what a login manager performs for firefox.
I'm afraid there's nothing we can do, we can only offer alternative way of handling your workflows.
Best regards,
Maurice
