Can't help but notice that the 64-bit client of 9.0 is a lot slower to startup and load sessions than the 32-bit version.
Tested this on both Win7 and 8, using SQL Azure datasource.

Hi,
Unfortunately this is known issue with .NET 64.
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/12979774/net-4-0-app-slower-on-64-bit-than-32-bit-profiling-and-possible-solutions-ap
By the way we recommend to use the 32 bit version of RDM ans switch to the 64 version only if you get some memory limitation. We have more technology integrated and it's faster.
I know that the next .NET update should fix this issue

Hello,
Guessed as much. Since we're still far from any memory limits, and like speed, we're sticking to 32-bit.
Thanks for the reply.

And you can even extend it a little bit:

Thanks. Should be helpful if I ever hit that memory limit.
