In 2008 (R2 as well) when you enable Remote Desktop connections you can choose the highest security setting which involves Network Level Authentication. However after doing this, I am unable to get embedded RDP connections working. Unticking the "embedded" option allows the connection to succeed, however obviously I would like to keep it embedded!
Cheers

Hi, I fixed something related to that, can you try this special build :
http://remotedesktopmanager.com/download/Devolutions.RemoteDesktopManager.Bin.5.6.3.3.zip
Thank you

Hi Neobyte, Did you try the new version 5.7, because somebody told me that this fix (NLA) is broken in the new version but I'm unable to see the difference?

I just installed 5.7 to test. I can confirm it *does not* appear to work with 5.7.
When I create a session and try and log in it does not work when set to "Embedded (tabbed)" - it opens a tab window with the appropriate server name title for a brief instant and then closes it again. If I go into the session properties and change the Display option to "External", it works and prompts me for credentials as it should.

Thank you for the info. I really don't understand what might be the problem but I continue to work on this bug.

Hi We are new customers with Enterprise version and we have the same problem. Is it possible to know how long it will take to get a new up-to-date version? Thanks in advanced :-) Regards Mia

Hi, If you download the latest version 5.7.3.0, I suspect that the Network Level Authentication must be checked. It's in the advanced tab of the RDP settings.
