Hello,
Between version 3.0.0.0 and 3.0.1.0 we found that the RDP Windows activeX is having an issue with the scaling HDPI. Could you try:
Uncheck the box Hight DPI please. Here is the way to Uncheck the box:

First, inside RDM go to FILE - Options - User Interface and please uncheck the box “Disable display scaling on high DPI setting.”
If you can’t see that setting you can add the line in your config files directly. To locate your config files please follow that help https://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/installation_configurationfilelocation.htm

Once you find the right folder please open with a text editor your RemoteDesktopManagerFree.cfg under the line “<CreationDate>2016-11-14T00:00:00-05:00</CreationDate> please add, “
<DisableHDPIAutoScaling>false</DisableHDPIAutoScaling>
Restart your Remote Desktop Manager application and the problem should be solved.

If needed here is the help page https://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/troubleshooting_hdpiscalingissues.htm

Ok Thanks Eric,

So you are having the same problem when you import your MSTSC session you save on your desktop prior ? Because RDM is using MSTSC with Display Mode.

@Eric,

If you create an RDP icon on your desktop, does it work well for you ?

If yes, you could import that RDP inside RDM with the Display Mode as external it will user the RDP application integrated with Microsoft. It could be a great way to use it in attempt of the new feature that's David talked about.

Also, I'm not sure if your -v option is the /v:server:port variable ?

As my colleague answer at the top, your problem isn't linked to the Template. They have a problem with RDM, the problem will be released in V12 (in less than 24 hours) But temporary you can use Template to do what you would like. Do you need help to create a template as you would like or you will expect version 12 ?

Hello,

If your Template location is empty, it's because they don't have any template created at this time. You can create one by following this help.
https://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/file_templates.htm.

Also for your information local templates are saved on the local computer and are not available to other users and shared templates are saved in the database and can be used by all users.

I hope this help will help you,

Hello,
Thanks for your information and sorry about that problem.
The problem is due to an option check by default with a new installation but not check when you upgrade from 2.7.1 to 3.0. Here are three ways to do it.
First, inside RDM go to FILE, Options, User Interface and please check the box “Disable display scaling on high DPI setting.”

Please see HDPI RDM.jpg

If you can’t see that setting you can add the line in your config files directly. To locate your config files please follow that help https://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/installation_configurationfilelocation.htm
Once you find the right folder please open with a text editor your RemoteDesktopManagerFree.cfg under the line “<CreationDate>2016-11-14T00:00:00-05:00</CreationDate> please add, “
<DisableHDPIAutoScaling>true</DisableHDPIAutoScaling>
Restart your Remote Desktop Manager application and the problem should be solved.

Third way to do it is directly with windows options.
Right Click on your Remote Desktop Manager Free icon on your desktop Go to Properties and in the Compatibility tab check the box disable display scaling on high DPI settings.

Please see HDPI windows. jpg

Hello Paul,

Is it a new problem and does it happen with any of your remote site ?
What is your RDM version ?
Is it possible that the local network of your remote site is the same, so RDM is able to ping the IP instead isn't in the same customer ?

Hello,

What is the version of RDM are you using ? Is it the last beta 11.9.6 or the last version 11.7.6 ?
Is this a new configuration of MariaDB datasource or it was an existing and working data source in your RDM ?
Also did you try to connect without SSL because the SSPI failed looks like the server does not have permissions to contact the local machine certificate store.

Before your configuration did you look with the procedure to configure a MariaDB datasource with SSL ? http://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/index.html?datasource_mariadb.htm

It will work only on selected items.

The dynamic way to do it for 6 months is

$connection.MetaInformation.Expiration = (Get-Date).AddMonths(6)
$RDM.Save()

Hello Rick,

There is a way to batch edit for your expiration to all your session.

First of all, you need to do an advanced search to see only the Session you would like to change the Expiration on it.
Here is the way to make an Advanced Search : http://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/index.html?advanced_search.htm

If you don't like this way, you can perform a filter only for your session type : http://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/index.html?view_searchfilter.htm

Once you have filters and selected all your session right click on it and Edit-> Batch Edit-> Batch Actions...
Select the Custom Powershell Command and on the new windows enter this sentence

-------------------
$connection.MetaInformation.Expiration = "2017-12-25T00:00:00-05:00"
$RDM.Save();
-------------------

Do not forget to change the date inside as you would like.

For more information about batch actions please see that Help http://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/batch_actions.htm

Also when your functions aren't working do you have an error into the application log ?

Hello Andi,

Thanks for your feedback.
The synchronizer VMware only create VMware Console connections. We cannot convert these entries to a Microsoft RDP connexion because if you look at the proprieties of your VMware Console Connections the host is your ESXi Host not the client host.

If you want to create a lot of RDP entries, you can import it by a CSV who will be much faster than create it once at the time.

Here is a link to help you with the CSV import.
http://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/index.html?file_importcsvwizards.htm

Also be sure for your portable version that you follow theHelp, it will probably resolve the Run-As admin restriction that you have. http://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/installation_portableusb.htm

Hello,

Could you test directly onto your PowerCLI to see if you could connect with this help. http://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/index.html?troubleshooting_vmware.htm

When you try the "Open-VMConsoleWindows" and they give you the error unable to find the specified browser:
That's mean VMWare console needs that you set your Browser by default.

You need to start your PowerCLI in administrator mode and type these commands depends on the default browser you choose.

Internet Explorer
Set-PowerCLIConfiguration –VMConsoleWindowBrowser 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe'

Firefox
Set-PowerCLIConfiguration –VMConsoleWindowBrowser “C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe”

The Help works fine but your RDM do not work. Try with PowerCLI 5.8 please.

But could you test with VMware Console integrated into RDM. You do not need any Vmware Application on your computer to make it work.
