Hi Jay,

Could you export your server logs and send me a copy?

To do that in your DPS.Console app find the View Logs button in the tool bar and click it.
Then right-click and export it.

Hi Adrian,

I wasn't able to reproduce your issue but I'm still trying to figure out what could go wrong for you.
Could you send me a screen shot of the content of your Backup tab.
Also in your previous screen shot, I'am not able to see what the Notes and Sucess column are indicating

Hi,

Just to update anyone watching this issue.
Min and I exchanged a few Private Message and we were not able to reproduce Min's issue.
However, Min's issue seems to be a one time thing that is not coming back.

We will keep an eye out for future issue like this one.

Hi Min,

You didn't create the a second root for your repository on purpose.
It's an issue we are trying to eliminate and it's the reason you receive the message.

I will send you the script in a Private Message as soon as it's ready.

Hi Min,

You currently have 2 roots for your repository.
I have an idea what is going on and I will fix the RDM so that it doesn't happen again.
Do you need a SQL script that will clean your duplicate roots?

Hi,

The error you are getting is related to the security provider you selected.
What type of security provider do you use with your datasource?
You can configure the security provider with Remote Desktop Manager under the administration tab.

Hi Devin,

The fix that was included in the latest version did not address your issue directly.
If it has fixed your connection problem then it's a good news.

We are also reworking the FreeRDP integration and we are already seeing promising improvement on connection stability and reliability.
We can't wait to have something to release.

Yes, the Windows version is using a component made by Microsoft to show the Embedded RDP Sessions.
Every other supported platform is using the FreeRDP component. Unfortunately, the smart card authentication for the Gateway server is not supported and I know it's not on their To-do list.

Sorry for the inconvenience

Hi Donald,

Unfortunately, smart card authentication on a gateway is not supported.
The smart card authentication is only supported on the remote host.

Hi Devin,

After speaking with our in-house RDP specialist about your issue, we are still a little baffled by your issue.
We would like you to check the Gateway logs on your gateway server.
You should be able to access them through the Event Viewer under this path Application and Service Logs\Microsoft\Windows\TerminalServices-Gateway\Operational

We don't know exactly what kind of entry to look for but there should be something showing up when you are unable to connect.
Also, there might be a policy configured that is getting in the way of establishing the connection between your Mac and the Gateway through RDM.
As we are using an openSource named FreeRDP for our RDP session there might be a message that is not sent correctly and one of the policy you might have is blocking the connection.

If we can identify what is blocking you it will be easier for us to fix the issue.

Thank you for your patience.

Hi Devin,

I forgot to ask you yesterday did you try to change the Transport to RPC?

Also, could you tell me what is the version of windows you are using on the gateway?

Hi Devin,

We are still working on your issue and we didn't made any notable progress.
We are also working on a complete rewrite of our RDP Engine that should make it more stable.
I'll update you as soon as I have something

Hi Devin,

Unfortunately, the log file you sent us doesn't contain much that can help us.
I've looked into it with our in house RDP specialist and our conclusion is:
-The unable to set TCP_NODELAY error shouldn't crash the session
-The log is missing some information about what is crashing.

The last entry in the log file is not consistent with the rest of the file but it contains an error that suggests that RDM is not able to resolve your Gateway name. You could try to use the IP Address in your session on the Gateway and the ones who connect through it.

One other thing you could try is to change the Transport parameter from Default to RPC in your session that connects through the Gateway.
It's the older way to communicate with a Gateway server but it could workaround the issue you might have if it's with RDP 8.

One more thing you could do to help us find out what is going on:
-Export a working session with Microsoft Remote Desktop to an rdp file
-Export a non-working session with Remote Desktop Manager to an rdm file
-Send me the 2 files in a Private Message.

We will analyse if there is something we missed that could cause an issue.

Hi Steve,

We had another user who had a similar issue.
I've built him a custom version that solved his issue.
Would you mind to give it a try?

Hi Jurjen,

We found an issue in the log you posted and we fixed it.
Unfortunately, we are not able to reproduce the issue you are describing.

Is it happening often?
Is it happening every time you are working in a windowed RDP Session?

Hi Devin,

Your log tells me that for some reason your RDP Gateway is refusing your Mac access.
The most obvious reason would be invalid credentials feeded to the Gateway server.
Could you make sure the gateway credentials are correct by first making a session that connects directly to the Gateway server?
If that work, configure the Gateway server by typing the username, domain and password directly inside RDP Entry.
2016+10+27+09+47+11
This is the most direct way to configure it.
Don't check the Use my RD Gateway credentials for my remote computer.

Tell me what you find.

Hi Devin,

Unfortunately, the only thing your log is saying is that for some reason our RDP component wasn't able to authentify your user.
To rule out any relation between your DVLS upgrade and your issue could you try to connect to a server using quick connect (the lightning button at the top of the main window). If that doesn't work, it means that the DVLS upgrade has no link to your issue.

I will also need the RDP logs of a session that fails to connect. See the instruction here: How to enable and send RDP Logs

Hi,

I found your issue and fixed it internally.
The fix should be available in our next release.
I also have a suggestion for you. If you want to allow your user to connect without having to type their credentials every time they connect you could make them configure their Local/User Specific Settings depending on the Data Source you are using and the way your user connect.

The Local Specific setting will be stored safely on the Local machine while the User Specific settings will be available on every computer a specific user uses if you are using a Data Source that supports it and that every user has their own account.

This can be accessed through the entry contextual menu by selecting the Edit Entry (Local Specific Settings) or Edit Entry (User Specific Settings) under the Edit sub-menu.

This feature is available on Windows and will be fixed on Mac in the next release.
