Hi as a short update.

the way with the remotedesktopmanager.ext files doesn't works. But on the favorites tab on the bottom is an import/export function. That works as expected.

many thanks and rgs

hello Stefane,

you getting the confirmation prompt "Do you really want to move this selection?, no as RDM is frozen..only a full black screen.

In the meantime i have removed RDM and re-installed RDM 14.0.5.0 from scratch but using now the SQLLite as datasource.. So far i can see with the the RDM instance and SQLLite instead of MS Access connection.mdb it works better and i don't see any problems.

Not sure if this happens on my PC with 15.0.4.0 too, but i was not able to recreate the same on colleagues RDM version 15.0.5.0 (SQlLite DS).

I have still my old instance, so i can see in the application log.

Hi RDM,

when i move a existing session via mouse, doesn't matter which kind of session, it gets a back screen on my PC and RDM is frozen for ~10mins.
Afterwards the session is not moved.
I can only move a session using the "Move" from the context menu.

I'm using 14.0.5.0 Enterprise on a Windows 10 Enterprise with MS Access as datastore (connection.mdb).

Is that a know issue or a new one?

hello David,
many thanks about your response. i guess we found the problem and the differences.
" ...... "
As you can see the format of the ID's are the same in upper cases, but starting from V14.x the ID's are in brackets {}
v13x 16ABBC15-4FD6-4568-AE23-54153AE52DEE
v14 {E6F0785D-02D9-4301-B7F8-6140BADB1E30}
So it seems, the RDM v14 expect an ID in the {} format ... which isn't. So it can not manage (move or delete it)
now there are two questions.
- should the new behavior like this , the ID's in {} brackets
- if yes, how to modify the old Connections.mdb, i can not manually change more the 100rows ...
PS: passing remark. i use this connection.mdb since the RDM version v1, and since almost 10years ...

Hi RDM team,

due some problems with the RDM v14.x i try to rebuild my RDM from scratch, but there a lot work in the current RDM. So i have exported my DS and imported into a fresh RDM.
After the import i can find all my session, but no Favorites. On the Favorites the "Import" is not active.

So how can i import my old Favorites (the Favorites are sessions)?
Why they are not inlcuded in the DS backup/export?

Hi RDM support team,
i guess the problem is with handling the Connections.mdb under 14.0. after the upgrade.
using RDM 13x i can move and delete any session also sub sessions..

After the upgrade, i use the RDM ZIP binary always and no exe/msi bundle, i updated the v13x with the v14 zip binary bundle, then i can add new sessions.. but i can not delete or move any old session added in a previous RDM version.
So i exported all my RDM stuff and created a new Connections.mdb (MS Access type) . Now i can delete and move all the old session again.

But that's not what i expect from an update to v14 (export everything -> create a new datasource -> import everything..
So i believe and from reading the other blog entries there is a change in v14 related to the datasource and this update doesn't works as expected, for the Connections.mdb (MS Access type) too.

another annoying thing, under RDM v14 (i'm not sure if it was in previous versions as well) with the 64bit version of RDM it's not possible to create a Connections.mdb (MS Access type).. Error message, to create MS Access DS you need the 32bit version of RDM.. why ??

I don't want to use a DB server like MSSQL, MariaDB or any other ..

Please fix it...

Hello Maurice,
the RDM 14.0.1.0 doesn't solve this problem.
I use the 32bit version of the RDM 14.0.1.0 and the default MS Access DB as datasource.
The RemoteDesktopManager.log shows:

Many Marice, i guess you will able to recreate this inhouse and solve the problem. So looking forward for a fixed version ..

scenario:
- create under RDM 13x a JWS or a Putty session
- update to RDM 14.0

- try to modify or delete the under RDM created session..

- please try to use the "Move" function and move a session from a folder to another folder.. it doesn't works as well upset

Please note, i don't have seen this with all types of sessions, some RDP session were able to delete.

Hello Maurice,
another odd behavior and maybe related to current. When i modify such a session and save it, it will NOT update this session but create a new session with the same session name.
btw.
I have backleveled my RDM to 13.6.7.0 using the same datasource and can delete all the sessions which are failing under RDM 14.0.0.0. Also the modification of a session works as expected. So it seems more an bug in RDM 14.0.0.0.
PS: new created session under 14.0.0.0 can be deleted, so it's only for old sessions..

Hi RDM team,

today i have updated my RDM fom 11.7.6.0 to -=> 12.0.1.0.
After the upgrade i miss in the navigator panel the folder "Macro/Script/Tools".
The ;

Device driver list
Get-Process
IP config
Processes List
Remote Command Prompt
System Informations
Task list

are still there, but on top on the navigator directly under the sessions.
That's an unwished behaviour for me.
I know there are a lot of minor GUI improvements, so i want to know is this a new 'feature' or is this a bug.

many thanks and rgs

Hi David,
many thanks about your response. i have good and bad news..
The bad one, the 11.6.7.0 shows the same behaviour as the 11.7.0.0 .. the good news.. if i unpack and start the RMD from scratch in a new directory it works as expected . means i can restore from Systray.

fazit, it seems this behaviour only happens when i overwrite an existing RDM version with the new 11.7 files.
PS: even i run Win 7 PRO 64bit is use the RemoteDesktopManager.exe and not the RemoteDesktopManager64.exe

i hope that helps

Hi Dev,

after the upgrade from RDM 11.6.2.0 to 11.7.0 on my Windows 7 Pro, i'm not longer able to restore the RDM from the Windows Systray.
Trying - rightclick in the icon and -> Restore doesn't works like others..
Also using the ProcessExplorer from MS Sysinternal and using "Restore and/or Bring to Front" doesn't works.

Unfortunately i can not downgrade to 11.6 as it's not available on the Dev site.
Please fix this issue asap.

many thanks

Hello David,

due some problems on my system (still WIN XP) i have uninstalled all .NET version from my system.
Afterwards i installed ONLY .NET 4.0 and tried to start RDM 8.1.0.0 but it fails with
"RemoteDesktopManager.exe - .NET Framework Initialization Error
Unable to find a version of the runtime to run this application. "

after installing .Net 3.5 ontop on .Net 4.0 RDM starts again.

So RDM needs really the old .NET 3.5 and fails if only .Net 4.0 is installed?

Cheers! Bob
