The data source is configured with the security provider and has been for a year.

The password prompt dialogue never appears on the android app.
I have killed the running android app and relaunched but still have no prompt.

Hi,

The shared passphrase security provider was configured on the Windows Desktop version of RDM and is working correctly.
But, I either cannot find where or am not promoted, to input the security provider settings so I can put in our existing shared passphrase

Hi,

Trying to set up our company RDM Datasource on the Android App, however there does not appear to be an option to set the Security Provider, as we use a Shared Passphrase on our Datasource.

I believe this was avaialble in Version 3.3 (https://forum.devolutions.net/topic27417-devolutions-online-database-rdm-with-own-security-provider--android-rdmpvm-use.aspx#post105156)
But on Version 5.2 it is missing.

Hi,

Is there any plans to support 2-Factor authentication within the OpenVPN Add-on?
image

Or atleast modify the automatic authentication, so that we can set a custom authentication pattern similar to the Event Macro Auto-Type function?
image

Example.
{WINDOW:OpenVPN - User Authentication (???????)}$USERNAME${TAB}$PASSWORD${TAB}$PASSWORD:ace36dde-f393-4a3e-ab22-46c484dc8812$

Not sure if we can reference external entries passwords in typing macros, or the correct reference format, but that would likely be needed for 2-Factor Authentication.

Currently the Password Analyzer tool only looks at Top level connections.
In scenarios like storing specific credentials against a host as sub-connections or storing Integrated Management Module connections as sub-connections, the Password Analyzer tool will not analyzer the sub-connection passwords to see if they match the password blacklist or show the Password Strength.

If the Password Analyzer could be updated to analyze the Sub-Connection entires, it would be a lot more useful.
Additionally, If we could have a way to use Regex in the Blacklist section, it would allow for a more flexible blacklist.

When opening the settings for a "Group" that has a VPN stored against it of type "Microsoft VPN" and "Embedded Phone Book".
You will receive the error "Unable to find the linked phonebook, this setting will be lost!" pop-up twice.
imageimage

Even though when you close the phone book and connect to one of the servers (VPN on the server is set to "Inherited"), the VPN will be dialed correctly.

This occurs for all clients opening the settings for the "Group", even the PC that uploaded the initial embedded phonebook.

This is for Version 13.5.6.0 and 13.5.7.0

Thank you both for your prompt response and rapid patching, as per usual. smile

I can see that you implemented this in the latest update, however it is bugged.
When adding one, it never appears.
It offers it in the sub-connection entry screen, you can select it, input all details, but when you click ok, it doesn't appear to save it to the database.

Great to hear that the first request can be easily done.

Didn't even think of using an attachment to handle that. that will work nicely for our purposes.
Even just allowing credential entries would be nice for now, as we are able to Parent them through refactoring, so it would take out the double handling for the odd time we need to do it.

We want to be able to store change history for Cisco devices and such in log comments when disconnecting from our devices.
Currently if insert a log comment the Notes field has a maximum character length of 500 lines.
The field in the database is stored as nvarchar(max) by default, so this is a constraint in the application not the database design.
Can you please either remove this constraint, or preferably, add an option in the administration section to change the maximum length of this field.
That way default installations can have their same limit, but it allows for flexibility for people who wish it.
This shouldn't cause too much of a speed issue, but could do with a note that adding large comments would likley mean needing to run the log cleanup tool more often.

Secondly,
It would be good if we can set what entry types are valid to be used for subconnections somewhere in the administration section.
We have passwords that are only valid for a single application on a single server, so we store them as a Username/Password credential entry, then use the refactoring options to parent it to the specific device (think Windows server with a specific piece of client software that gets used no where else on their network)
We cannot add the credential as an entry directly, we can only do it via refactoring where we set the parent.
But this does not work for all entry types.
We have Cisco devices that we would like to add a Document Entry as a subconnection to store their last known good working configuration.
But we cannot set a parent on a Document Entry.
And if we could get the Credential Entries listed in there, as we can already use them as sub connections, just not directly.

Hi David,

The VPN profile is set to use Microsoft VPN.
However testing with another client using OpenVPN type and being in the same VPN group, actually dials the VPN a second time.
If i set it to "Connect if unable to ping/scan" then it works as expected.

If you set the "Open" mode to "Always connect" in the VPN Settings page, then RDM does not track the open VPN Sessions using the VPN Groups.
1. This isn't documented in the Online Help (https://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/#_ga=2.117918089.1842969885.1503444416-553491807.1502240005)
2. This wouldn't work in an environment where a local machine has the same IP as the remote Machine in the remote subnet.
Can either the Online Help be amended, or RDM updated to support this feature?

I am using a work around with the "Open" mode set to "Connect if unable to ping/scan" and then using a custom host that should never be reachable.

Version is 12.6.4.0
