Hello Joey,

You clearly say that "Wayk Now is free for both personal and commercial use", yet upon end of every session there is a pop-up window stating that the session is free of charge for PERSONAL use, which raises questions from users, and we have to explain again and again that it is legal to use that particular version for free.
Please comment.

Hi Ivo,

As I said, Wayk Now is free for both personal and commercial use. The reason why you see this message is that prior being free for both, it was only free for personal use. We will fix this in the next build that should be available in the of the week or early next week!

Please make sure to download the latest version of Wayk Now to get the best of Wayk Now smile -->> https://wayk.devolutions.net/home/download

There may be times you’re not sure whether to use RDM Jump or SSH port forwarding. I’ll admit that even I get confused sometimes!
The easiest way to look at this is not as an “either/or” decision – because it’s not a matter of one being better than the other. It’s really a question of what you want to do. In a moment, we’ll look at the differences between RDM Jump and SSH Port Forwarding. First though, some of you may benefit from a quick recap.
Find more information about both tools on our blog:

Recently, we looked at the differences between RDM for Windows and RDM for Android. But don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten all of you iPhone and iPad fans, because today we’ll be comparing RDM for Windows to RDM for iOS.
About RDM for iOSFirst of all, in case you’ve spent the last couple of years encased in carbonite a la Han Solo and don’t know what I’m talking about: RDM for iOS is a free app that lets you access all of your remote connections and passwords directly from your iPhone or iPad. The app is powerful, easy-to-use and loaded with features. For example, you can manage users, change access rights, launch connections, import or export data, and so much more – all without having to head into the office.
Head to HeadHere’s a head-to-head look at RDM for Windows vs. RDM for iOS, both using an XML data source. We’ll cover three key aspects: Features, Supported Remote Connections, and Credential Types. See the full comparison grid on our blog:

PCI DSS is an acronym for Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard. It’s a set of worldwide protection standards developed by major payment card companies, and it’s mandatory for businesses that store, process, or transmit payment card data. Guidance is also provided to software, app and device creators that facilitate payment card transactions. It is intended to protect both consumers and businesses.
The consequences for companies that do not meet these requirements can be damaging in many ways. Without being PCI DSS compliant, companies would risk monetary loss, loss of client confidence, and they could incur legal costs, fines and penalties, and even bankruptcy. The PCI requirements, in other words, are not to be taken lightly.
Obviously, if your business is governed by PCI DSS, then compliance is high on your priority list. And guess what? Remote Desktop Manager can help you meet these requirements. Find out how on our blog:

Lately, we’ve been doing a lot of comparing (e.g. RDM Enterprise vs. Free, RDM vs. PVM, and so on). Today, I’d like to keep the ball rolling by comparing RDM for Windows and RDM for Android.

Before we begin, and in case you aren’t familiar with RDM for Android, it’s a free app that lets you access all of your remote connections from your smartphone or tablet. The app is powerful, easy-to-use and loaded with features. For example, you can manage users, change access rights, launch connections, import or export data, and the list goes on.

With this in mind, here’s a head-to-head look at RDM for Windows vs. RDM for Android, both using an XML data source:

We are honored that IT pros from around the world are part of our community of users. And while roughly 942 million people on the planet communicate in English, and about 225 million people speak French (either as their first language, second…or maybe fifth!), we know that language barriers can get in the way. And that’s where the Devolutions Localizer comes to the rescue!

The Devolutions Localizer is our very own ultra-cool RDM translator portal. Personally, I think it’s a masterpiece. It’s a way for RDM users to help other RDM users by translating as much (or as little) as they want from the original English or French into their native language – or languages, if they are a multilingual superstar.

Reverse SSH Port Forwarding specifies that the given port on the remote server host is to be forwarded to the given host and port on the local side. To try to put this as simple as can be, Reverse SSH is a technique through which you can access systems that are behind a firewall from the outside world.
So instead of your machine doing a simple SSH, the server does an SSH and through the port forwarding makes sure that you can SSH back to the server machine.

Learn how and why should you use Reverse SSH Port Forwarding on our blog!

Recently, we shared some advice on whether it makes more sense to use Remote Desktop Manager Enterprise or Remote Desktop Manager Free. The answer is that it really depends on your needs. Today, we'd like to offer some suggestions on choosing between Password Vault Manager or Remote Desktop Manager.

The best place to start is by asking yourself this very simple question: Do you need a solution to manage passwords or do you need a solution to manage passwords and remote connections? Here's a full comparison:

Have you ever wondered why Remote Desktop Manager sometimes asks you to upgrade the database – and other times it doesn’t? Well, the question crossed my mind the last time I was prompted to upgrade, so I did some digging, and here’s the simple answer.

A database upgrade – which affects your advanced data sources (SQL Server, MySQL, MariaDB, etc.) – is typically required when updating to a new version of Remote Desktop Manager (e.g. from v11 to v12). And on occasion, it’s necessary when updating to a sub-version (e.g. v11.1 to v11.2).

Devolutions has grown exponentially since the release of Remote Desktop Manager 1.0.
A lot has changed over the years, from moving into larger (and larger) locations to exponentially increasing our roster of great team members to adding more innovative products. The truth about our products is that we offer one core product, which has been followed by many sub-products. Remote Desktop Manager has been around from the very beginning and it remains central to what Devolutions is all about. Our other products are directly related to the RDM or are derivatives of it. In the past, you had to buy a separate license to get RDM Jump. Well, here’s a Christmas gift that is about 1000x better than a pair of socks or an ugly sweater: RDM Jump is now fully integrated in the new version of Remote Desktop Manager!
RDM Jump connects to a remote host — often called a Jump Box or a Service Host — which in turn is used to connect to other hosts. It’s similar to Microsoft’s RD Gateway. This is a great tool if you’re a mobile/remote worker and can’t always access a private network. Now, you simply connect via a Jump host, and everything is secure and locked down — which means you can work from home, your favorite coffee shop…anywhere you wish!

The new Remote Desktop Manager 12 has some great new features, and one of my favorites is Root Settings. Along with Security Groups, Roles and Repositories, it’s another way to manage your security.

With Root Settings, you can set a permission on your top-level folder (the root folder).
