What RDM version and edition are you using?

About your main issue, what PowerShell version are you using?

Do you have enough privileges on that machine to run PowerShell scripts according to the execution policies?

It's strange that you cannot find that Privileges tab when you edit the user account.

Sorry for the late reply.

It is possible to create a new SQL data source in RDM through PowerShell but instead of hard-coding the username and password in the script, you can set them in environment variables and use those environment variables in your script. Let us know if that could be a viable solution for you.

It is not possible to schedule the cleanup from RDM. You will have to do this manually.
And it requires administrator privileges to be able to clean the logs.

Hello,

It is not possible to manage the log entries from the DPS Console. From the DPS web interface, only the Deleted entries logs can be deleted in Reports - Deleted Entries.

It is possible to clean log entries using the Clean Up tools in Remote Desktop Manager when connected to a DPS data source. Please see the following online help page for more information.

Hello,

To export entries to a HTML file, you can use the RDM PowerShell cmdlet Export-RDMsession cmdlet.

You will find a PowerShell sample script you can use in the following forum post.

Just replace the Export-RDMSession command line in the script with the following to export in a HTML file.

Export-RDMSession -Path "C:\temp\Sessions_$reponame.html" -Sessions $sessions -HTML -Password $passwd

Thank you for the information sent in the private message. According to the result of the query, you only have one root entry in the SQL database.

Could you please follow these steps to reset the DPS and RDM cache to see if this will resolve the issue? That should help to resolve the Duplicate root error message in RDM.

1- On the DPS web interface, go in Administration - Reset Server Cache and reset the Entries, Vaults, Roles and Users.

2- In RDM, refresh the local cache file with CTRL+F5. All users that receive this error message will have to reset the RDM local cache file.
3- Then, close RDM and open it back to see if you still get the Duplicate root creation error message.

Which data source type have you created in RDM (File - Data sources)? Is it a SQL data source or a Devolutions Password Server (DPS) data source?

If it's a SQL data source, this will result in creating a duplicate root because RDM cannot decrypt the root created by DPS. You must create a DPS data source in RDM to be able to see the content and not create duplicate root entry. I will send you further instructions in a private message to identify the duplicate root and to be sure to delete the right one.

Hello,

Which method have you used to move the SQL database? The recommended method to move the SQL database from a server to another one is to do a copy only backup and the restore the database on the destination server.

Have you tried to directly connect on the SQL database from RDM as a SQL data source? If the database you want to connect as a data source in RDM has been created with DPS, as the database is now encrypted by the latest DPS Console 2019.2.12, it will not be possible to directly connect on that database from RDM.

Can you find any of the other KBs? The list I have provided comes from a load balancing installation where one of the server had the console issue and those are the list of the KBs that are installed on that faulting server.

There is no clue at all in the %appdata%\Devolutions\DPSConsole folder. Even if we compare its content before and after the unsuccessful update, other then the GUIDs or date and time fields, there is no differences. So that's why we are looking for a Windows Update that could lead us to maybe something interesting.

Yes it's a known issue with the DPS Console 2019.2.12 and we haven't identified the problem yet.

The Set-RDMDataSource cmdlet is used to save the data source configuration, not to set it as the current data source. Please use instead Set-RDMCurrentDataSource cmdlet. You should not get the XML error anymore.

Let me know if that helps to get all the sessions with Get-RDMSession.
