I personally would advice against using WebDAV.
Other datasources are probably more stable and easier to set up.

If it's just for yourself, I would store the XML or preferably the Sqlite locally, which can be in a folder that get's synced outside of RDM like Dropbox, Onedrive of Google Drive.

Personally I have never gotten WebDAV to work without running into issues.

VERSION 2019.2.9.0 (October 10th 2019) Beta

•Added "send break" command for SSH shell entry

I tried this out immediately. Does not seem to work unfortunately.

Also; what would be the keyboard shortcut associated and how would we potentially change what the Break command is?

Great!

Just yesterday, I was logged into some Cisco routers using RDM and had to kill my sessions because I couldn't break the process.

Looking forward to this!

I just started a traceroute through an SSH session to a Cisco router.
Of course I forgot to temporarily change the Break command, so I now have no way of stopping this process on the router.

I know this is already on the "bug list" - just a reminder smile

I don't think this is really a bug, also not a feature request, but also not support...
So I let the dice decide which subforum should get this post.

With Nav pan auto-collapsed, when the Pane is expanded it will not collapse back if you click outside of the Pane.
Double clicking a session will collapse (this is an option)
But if you open the pane, and then maybe right click a credential, open the properties for a session etc, the pane does not collapse when you click outside of it.
The only way to close the Pane again is to click outside of the RDM window (ie Windows taskbar)

It would be so very pleasing if the Pane would collapse also if we click somewhere in the RDM window or even in the Session Window.

Or maybe it would help if the Pane would auto-collapse if the Mouse is not hovering above
And in addition the Pane could pop-up when hovering the mouse over the Tab
So also kind of a feature request...

Also the top bar does not collapse back up, when you pull it down, and then click somewhere in your session.
In this case it does collapse when we click on another RDM window element though.
But as you might understand, collapsing to the left, collapsing above; gives us a great big session window , so not a lot of RDM window real estate we can click on to collapapse.

Which type of datasource are you using?

I don't think there is an alternative.
You could put the credentials in a seperate vault ir datasource but then you would not be able to reference them.

Out of curiosity; how would your suggestion be all that different from putting credentials in 1 folder?

We have a folder in each structure called 'accounts' where we store credentials.
We also like to keep credentials seperated and this works just fine for us.

Options > User Interface > Treeview
Merge Credential List with Session (local source only)

Turn off to seperate them

If using central DB ;
Tools > System Settings > Applications > Type settings
Merge Credential list with sessions

The feature seems to be currently missing... so I'd consider it a request to get this implemented properly wink

I'm sure someone someone from the engineering department will know how to handle this, and David will monitor this and make sure the SSH engine gets a proper implementation of sending special sequences, because this (ssh/telnet) is an important part of RDM that needs to work properly.

I found a way you can bypass it in the meantime, might be something you'd want to do by default;

In the configuration for the router or switch you can change the escape sequence;

conf t
line vty 0 15
escape-character 3

That makes it so Ctrl-C can be used. (apply same to console if required)

But this deviates from the norm, and requires changes to switches that not everybody might have access to, or would like to.

https://etherealmind.com/changing-break-sequence-cisco-ios-useful-different/

You might want to set this temporarily after logging in, using the macro typing option in RDM.
(which I use for example to send 'enable' on Cisco and 'terminal-length on HP switches)

To change the escape sequence for just the active session you would use;
terminal escape-character 3

Hi David,

It's not a CTRL-C.

See my unresolved post here;
https://forum.devolutions.net/messages.aspx?TopicID=31661

Break is a special command (escape key) that can be send.
Same goes for backspace for example, which with default settings works for Cisco but not for some older HP (3Com) switches, which require Ctrl-H instead of Ctrl-? (127).

See this: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/routers/10000-series-routers/12818-61.html

I haven't tried lately, the default for Cisco I believe is Ctrl-Shft-6

The context would be;

When you give a command, that spews out something and you want to cancel (break) the task.
Like for instance a Ping command or Traceroute

Looks like your new firewall is doing DPI on TLS/SSL traffic.

This means the firewall acts as a sort-of man in the middle (mitm) which replaces the certificate.

You need to import the Root CA from the Firewall , but I also suggest to talk to the guys who manage the firewall, because the "issued to" should not be replaced, only the Issuer would be replaced.

This is not an RDM issue, the same would apply to any HTTPS website or other TLS traffic.

Add new entry
Vmware synchronizer
Credentials > Credential repository > pointed to seperate vsphere credentials

Cannot save the session >
Unable to save the entry; invalid data sent!
The username is required!

But when entering the credentials explicitely there is no error message
Of course, using credential repositry is the prefered method.

Using 2019.1.35

That would work, that would work for everything.
Seems like a nice, simple information entry to have specifically for VPN information.
With option to export to an html page , nice layout to share with other parties
Could be used in reports, to find i.e. site-to-site bovpn tunnels with older, weak protocols etc

Custom entry is also flat, does not allow for arrays (i.e. multiple gateways / tunnels , 1:1 NAT )

I get your point, it's nice to have, not a must.
Resources can be better spend on other features, like another suggestion / request by my for even better OpenVPN integration (interaction w/ the openvpn server and multiple tap interfaces)

Started noticing this with most recent RDM version but possibly been there a while,
Happens when the module wants to open the datasource connection window

An information entry where VPN settings can be stored could be a welcome addition.

With fields to enter gateways, peer ID,
Phase 1 and phase 2 authentication and encryption methods, (esp, aes, des etc)
whether or not DPD is enabled or not,
if PFS is enabled
What the preshared key or certificate is
IKEv1 or IKEv2

I suppose those who document this currently just put that info in a textfile or excel thingy.

Looks OK to me.
This is the expected outcome.
Did you check if the templates are now present in the target database?

https://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/index.html?powershell_cmdlets.htm

Import the Powershell module in Powershell or run it from within RDM.

Then you can list your datasources;

Get-RDMDatasource

Then set the current datasource to where your templates are;

Set-RDMCurrentDataSource < ID from source >

Then grab all templates and put them in a variable;

$template = Get-RDMTemplate

Then you change the datasource to what the target for the templates would be;

Set-RDMCurrentDataSource < ID from target >

and then you import the templates in the variable $template in the target datasource;
$template | set-rdmtemplate
