Hello,

You’re right: File – Settings – Types – Sessions – Terminal isn’t available in the Linux interface. The article’s instructions show the Windows settings path.

In RDM for Linux 2026.3.1.1, you can configure syntax highlighting in the SSH entry’s properties under Terminal – Display.

Best regards,

Carl Marien

Oh. So it is just via entry setting? No global one?

In 2026.2.2.2 - Settings -> Session type -> Terminal and here was syntax highlight. Why was this removed? It seems to be working as I have syntax highlight after update but on another PC with fresh install I have none.

Hello,

I discussed this with our development team, and they agree it is a bug: the syntax highlighting settings should be in File – Settings – Types – Sessions – Terminal, as our documentation says, but they no longer appear in Remote Desktop Manager 2026.3.1.1.

We have created a bug report, and our developers are now working on it. I will contact you as soon as a version with the fix is released

We are sorry for the inconvenience. If you have any other questions in the meantime, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Best regards,

Carl Marien

I am also in the same situation. I configured Syntax Highlighting on my work machine (Fedora) using an older RDM version. Recently, I switched from Windows to Fedora at home and noticed that this option was removed in the current version, along with the lack of options to import settings (which I exported from work) or import colors. If necessary, I can open a separate issue specifically for importing settings. As shown in the image, it is working on this older installation.

Hello,

Thank you for reporting this. You’re right: in RDM Linux 2026.3 the Syntax highlighting section is missing from File Settings – Entry types – Sessions – Terminal. Our developers confirmed this is a regression and it is tracked as RDMLI-4708. The fix has already been prepared for an upcoming 2026.3 update.

We’ll let you know when the update containing the fix is available.

Thank you very much; I tested it at home last night and it’s working well. I’m going to update it now on my work computer.
