Hello everyone,
I would like to use the AD Sync Module to synchronize computer objects from Active Directory into my DVLS vault. These include both Windows and Linux systems.
Since I want to handle the computer objects differently depending on the operating system, I need two separate sync modules. Both modules need to access the same AD OU and the same DVLS vault.
My problem is that the two sync modules overlap during synchronization. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to resolve the issue using the built-in filter.
**My question:** Is there a way to configure the synchronization so that each sync module processes only the specific computer objects intended for it—for example, separated by operating system—without the sync pointing to different locations?
Many thanks in advance for your help!
Hi,
Thanks for posting.
Could you check what the operatingSystem attribute shows on a few of your Linux computer objects? You can see it in the Attribute Editor tab in Active Directory Users and Computers, or with Get-ADComputer <name> -Properties operatingSystem.
You should be able to do this with two synchronizers pointing to the same OU and vault. The key is to make the filters mutually exclusive using the operatingSystem attribute in the Other filters field (Filters tab):
If you still see overlap, could you share the filters you’re using now and describe what happens (duplicates, deleted entries, or entries moving)?
That will help us pinpoint it.
