User language settings, a way to persist?

Thank you for the clear description.

I understand the concern. You would like to keep English as your own PSU language preference while still allowing localization for the rest of your users, and your browser locale cannot be changed because it is enforced by your organization.

I reviewed the current documentation but was not able to find a documented per-user language override that I can confidently recommend independently of the browser locale.

Could you please confirm the following so I can narrow down the behavior?

• Your exact PowerShell Universal version and build.
• When you change the language to English, does it return to Danish only after closing and reopening the browser, after signing out and back in, or also after simply refreshing the page?

Once we have those details, we can determine whether there is an existing persistence mechanism for your PSU version or whether this behavior would need to be evaluated as a feature request.

It only reverts when I close and reopen the browser fully or if I clear the cookies.

It sticks on page refreshes, closing the tab, but not the browser, and returning later, and even signout. (It doesn't "remove" the cookie that sets the language on signout)

PSU version is currently 2026.3.1.

Quick update, also happens on 2026.3.2, had to update so I could create scripts again :)

Thanks for the clarification and for testing this on 2026.3.2 as well.

That confirms the language behavior is unchanged between 2026.3.1 and 2026.3.2. The language selection remains when refreshing the page, closing the tab, or signing out, but is lost after fully closing the browser or clearing cookies.

I also understand that the update to 2026.3.2 was for the separate issue affecting your ability to create scripts.

I’m going to verify whether the current language persistence behavior is expected and whether there is a supported way to retain a per-user language preference independently of the browser locale. If that capability is not currently available, we can then determine whether this should be treated as a feature request.

Thank you for the additional details.

I completed a local reproduction using PSU 2026.3.2 and also compared the behavior with 2026.3.1.

I was able to reproduce the same lifecycle you described. The manually selected English language persisted across page refreshes, tab closure and reopening, and sign-out/sign-in. However, after completely closing the browser and reopening it, the interface returned to the language determined by the browser preferences. The same decisive behavior was also observed on 2026.3.1.

I also tested the Language option under User Settings / Preferences. Selecting English and saving the preference did not make the language persist after the relevant browser state was removed.

At this point, the behavior is reproducible, but I do not want to classify it as a bug or feature limitation until the expected design is confirmed.

I will escalate the findings to Development to confirm whether the language selector is intentionally session-based and whether PSU currently supports a persistent per-user language preference independent of the browser locale.
