[2026.3.0] git edit does not stay in edit

Thank you for reporting this and for sharing your findings, especially with 2026.3.0 being a newly released version.

We are going to reproduce the behavior around Git Edit mode after an IIS Application Pool recycle in our lab and review the results directly with the Development team.

We have completed our initial technical review of the Git Edit behavior after an IIS Application Pool recycle.

The findings indicate that the edit state is tied to runtime state that is lost when the process is recycled. We have enough technical evidence to move this case forward for internal review so Development can confirm whether this behavior is expected or requires a product change.

I will update this thread once we have additional information from that review.
