PowerShell Universal Community Call - September 2026

Meeting Notes

We primarily discussed PowerShell Universal 2026.3.0 and I provided a demo of some of the new features. We looked at the new UI, search features, AI chat and agent integration. I used the devolutions/powershell-universal and devolutions/devolutions-agent containers to run the demo.

• The UI has been generally well received
• User Settings
  • One attendee asked for support in exporting and importing user sessions
  • We talked a little about how we could make admin defined menu layouts for PSU
• An attendee mentioned using Azure Automation to run jobs and had interest in seeing if Devolutions Agent could replace that
  • Adam L mentioned that Gateway should be able to handle the proxy similar to how Azure does but we will need to investigate further
  • In this configuration, the agent would communicate with the gateway and then the gateway would communicate with PSU
• AI Chat
  • An attendee asked for the ability to have a plan mode to prevent the agent from making changes before being accepted.
  • I mentioned that we have MCP Tool call approvals on the backlog but will open an issue for plan mode
• Script Docs
  • There was a desire among many attendees to have support for mermaid charts in script documentation
  • An attendee mentioned opening a feature request for script documentation preview in the same page as the script documentation editor
