cannot connect to SSH via Azure Bastion in RDM

avatar

I'm having troubles getting Azure Bastion SSH connections to work in RDM. My RDP sessions via Bastion (in RDM) work fine, so I know that Bastion itself is functioning properly. I can also manually connect to the target servers in Azure via Bastion (as in, when I'm in the Azure portal, I'm able to connect via Bastion), so I know the Bastion connectivity to the target is working.

I have the target machine's SubscriptionID and Resource group configured, and the Bastion configured in the connection settings.

But when I configure my Bastion in RDM to the target machine, I get the error :

No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it

I have the Bastion settings configured using "TCP Tunnel". I've also tried configuring the "Host" using the hostname and the IP address (both give me the same error)

using RDM ver 2026.2.17.0 64-bit (JIT)

Hello

Sorry for the inconvenience.

IIRC the "Name" of the connection should reflect the virtual machine name in Azure; and I guess your RDP connections are configured the same way?

To try something really low-hanging to unblock you: in the SSH session, under the "Advanced" tab, does it work if you force the "Internet Protocol" setting to "IPv4"?

Please let me know if something isn't clear

Thanks and kind regards,
