Currently the identities search is case sensitive. Please remove case sensitivity
Hello jlem,
Thank you for reporting this.
To help us determine whether this behavior is specific to a version or database backend, could you please provide the following?
* Exact PowerShell Universal version
* Database type: SQLite, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL
* Hosting method: MSI, IIS, Docker, or other
* Confirm whether you are referring to the search field under Platform > Identities
* A simple example of the behavior, such as whether an identity named `TestUser` is found with `TestUser` but not with `testuser`
Once we have these details, we can review the behavior and determine whether additional reproduction testing is required.
Best regards,
Ruben Tapia
2026.2.4
SQLite
IIS
Search under ==> Security -> Identities
Example if you search for jacob it will return a jacob but not a Jacob
Hello jlem,
Thank you for providing those details.
With PSU 2026.2.4, SQLite, IIS, and the specific example you provided under Security > Identities, we now have enough information to reproduce the behavior in our lab.
We will test the same search scenario using different capitalization. If we can reproduce the behavior under matching conditions, we will proceed with an internal escalation for further review.
We will update this thread once the lab testing is complete.
Best regards,
Ruben Tapia

Hello jlem,
Thank you for the additional information.
We completed our lab testing using PowerShell Universal 2026.2.4 with IIS and SQLite, matching the environment you reported.
We were able to reproduce the behavior consistently. Search results changed based solely on capitalization, and the same results were reproduced 3 out of 3 times.
At this point, we have enough evidence to escalate the case internally to Development for further review and to determine whether this behavior should be treated as a product defect.
As a temporary workaround, using the identity's stored capitalization returns the expected search result.
We will update this thread once we have additional information from the internal review.
Best regards,
Ruben Tapia
