Use a hidden entry from the vault within the web portal login entry

Hi
We would like a setup where you can use a hidden vault entry as credentials within the web portal entry.
At the moment it is not possible to hide the vault that is containing these credentials
when using it within the web portal entry in the workspace browser plugin.

This is what we would like to achieve:
We want to have one dedicated person who has knowledge of the credentials for a certain website login.
These credentials should be kept in a vault that only this one person can see and edit.

In general this setup works, if the vault that is containing the credentials, is visible for the user that is using the web portal entry.
As soon as this vault is hidden for all other users, while still keeping the execute permission active,
double clicking the web portal login doesn't work anymore.

What we would like to have is using this credential vault within the web portal entry, but keep it hidden to the user, so that the user has no knowledge that this vault even exists.
By doing so the workspace browser plugin would be less cluttered.
At the moment we need 2 entries in workspace for each web portal, which is an unnecessary overhead and quite confusing for the user.

Hi,

If I understand correctly, you’d like to link credentials to a Website entry without granting View Entry permission on the credential entry itself?

In Devolutions Server and Devolutions Hub, to use an entry or credentials, users must have access to the vault where those items are stored, and they must be able to view them. If you don’t want users to interact with the credentials beyond using them, you can limit permissions to View Entry and Execute only.

Regarding the “two entries” scenario: when a Website entry matches, only the Website entry is shown in the Workspace browser extension. The linked credentials are not shown to the user unless they explicitly search for the credential entry or navigate through the vault/folders to locate it.
