Support customfields on more entry types

After exporting our vaults from the server version and import into Hub, we have noticed many entries have lost their customfields where we have stored data which can no longer be accessed via the Hub.
So we have kept our old devolution password server online.

The bare minimum for me would be to be able to migrate 1 to 1 between your own services which we cant 100% do, when theres a few entries that dont even exist in Hub but do in password server, and fields are not shows.

An example of this is old certificate entry, in hub the entries are just called document after import.
Custom fields are shown when viewing the entries in RDM and connected to the Hub, so the data have been imported they just need to be shown.

Connection-String as an entry cannot be added in Hub as a new entry, but old ones have been imported so the entry type exist since it recognize it as "Connection-String"-type.

Good Morning and thanks for your feedback.

Regarding your issues, I will create two internal tickets:

  • One to investigate the Custom Fields not showing in the Entry type Document (look more like a bug).
  • Another one to add the Connection String as an Entry Type for the Hub.

We understand your expectation to be able to migrate your data from both systems, in the meantime, do you have any other specific Entry Types that are causing issues during your import?

Finally, as a temporary workaround (Read-Only), please note that you can view these fields values via the View Raw Data tab (see screenshot). We are aware that this is not a perfect solution, but it should allow you to view the values of your fields in the Hub while we work on these tickets.

@Dominic Dansereau

Yeah we found the raw date lastnight and was able to workaround alot that way.
But not everyone have the permissions to view the raw data we found out.

So trying to experiment with least-privilage to be able to see it.

We also found on for example documents, this was flagged if it makes any difference?

Good morning Jesper, and thanks for the additional feedback. Glad the Raw Data feature was able to help you, even if it is just as a temporary workaround.

I will get back to you regarding your question but, off the top of my head and based on the investigation we did yesterday, I doubt it will help (even if it doesn’t cost anything to try). As I told you yesterday, I already created an internal ticket. I will follow up with the team and try to give you an ETA as soon as possible.

Good Morning Jesper,

I just wanted to let you know that the issue : Entry-Type Docoument Custom-Fields not showing has been resolved in our internal build. Unfortunately, this fix won't be included in next week's release, but it will be in the one after that (likely early December). I've also done a quick check, and it seems that only the "Document" Entry-Type was affected by this issue, therefore, it shouldn't impact other Entry-Type.

Ticket about adding "Connection-String" Entry-Type still in the planning stages.

Please feel free to send me your comments or questions about this.

Quick update on this topic: Fix for the Custom Fields issue for Document Entry type was Merged yesterday and will be available with the next release (in about a week or so).

The other request (regarding Connection-String entry) is still being in prioritization.
