Accessing Serial Ports on Linux.

I'm a heavy Linux user and I work as a Network Engineer/Network Administrator. I use serial interfaces to connect and configure switches, routers, ect via a console cable. I see that on the Windows RDM version, there is support for a serial port. I know that I can do this from the terminal, but it would be nice to have a single pane of glass to connect to a serial port using my RDM on my Linux box and initial configure my switches/routers/firewalls.

Hi larrytaylor03,

I have created a ticket to implement the Serial Port entry in RDM Linux.

We'll let you know once it has been implemented.

+1 on this.

This is also something I immediately found lacking in the Linux version ditching Windows because of all the crap that is forced on us by Microsoft in W11 (I refuse to upgrade to it). As the OP said it would be nice to have it included in the Linux version. I use it heavily for logging debug output from Microcontrollers as I am an embedded software engineer.

Cheers
