Windows always in foreground and title bar with buttons to minimize, maximise + close gone missing
After upgrading from 2024.x to 2025.2.4 the windows title bar (above File|Home|Edit|...) with the buttons to minimize, maximise + close is gone missing.
I used to right click it to move to another workspace. The shortcut ALT-Space is a workaround for that.
What is even more a showstopper is, that the window can not be moved into the background anymore. It always occupies a full monitor (as it can not be resized neither).
My OS is Ubuntu 22.04 LTS.
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to Devolutions Support.
From what I’ve observed, the latest Ubuntu release has removed the hide button from the user interface, although the close button still appears to be present on the left. It’s possible that this change is affecting how window controls (such as close and hide) are displayed in other applications, including Remote Desktop Manager.
To help us better understand the issue, could you please send us a screenshot showing the missing button in RDM, along with how it appears in other windows?
Best regards,
Carl Marien
The RDM window is maximized to fill the monitor even over the panel which I usually have at the bottom.
The editor window can be resized like all other windows.
Difference: You see the name of the application in the center of the title bar and the 3 buttons on the right in the Editor screenshot. These are all missing for RDM window.
Also the title bar offers right click functionality, like move to another workspace. As there is no title bar for RDM the right click functionality is not present.

Hi tanjadahlke,
I think your window just happens to be in fullscreen. So, unless I'm wrong, simply toggling it again should fix it. Usually, the shortcut to toggle fullscreen on and off is F11, but it could be different on your distribution.
I hope this helps.

Yes I know that the window is in full screen. I can use F11 to toggle all other windows from fullsreen to a movable smaller size.
But I can not toggle the RDM window using the same shortcut key working for all the other windows. F11 has no effect on it. Just RDM behaves differently.
I noticed F11 is the default shortcut for advanced search. I can disable it in settings, and it tells me "Changes will only be applied after an application restart". Well, after the restart the shortcut is again on F11. So I can not even disable the shortcut. Any way to report his bug?
But I can change it to something else. This gets stored and is visible in the preferences after restart. Though it does not work (I chose Super-A for advanced search).
F11, which should not be captured by advanced search now, has no effect at all on this window.
Did I mention that the performance is terribly slow? That is why I thought F11 has no effect, the Advanced Search window only appeared after I wrote the previous message.
Sorry to hear that tanjadahlke, I could indeed reproduce the issue you've described on my end and I will investigate it and come back to you when I've found a fix.
As for the performance issues, could you send us your diagnostics information? You can find the System Diagnostics window under the Help section and can copy the info to your clipboard using the button at the bottom left of the window.
Best regards.

Hello,
This issue has been resolved, and the fix is available in the latest release of RDM (2025.3.0.8).
Please note that a database upgrade is required if you use SQL Server as your datasource.
Please consult this article prior to perform the upgrade

Please let us know if you are still encountering any issues or if this works as expected.
