No PAM Service connected for this hub error when launching connection via gateway farm
Hello,
Using RDM 2025.2.27 with Hub business data source and no PAM license or configuration. When an RDP connection is configured to launch via a gateway farm it fails with the error below. If I remove the gateway server from the farm, and reconfigure the RDP connection to connect via same gateway instance (no longer a farm member) it then works fine. Gateway is running latest version.
Please let me know if you would like any additional info.
Thanks
Joe

Hello Joe,
Thank you for reaching out to our forum. Could you confirm if all Gateway members in the farm are using HTTPS, and if there are any differences in their configurations? If you keep the farm but remove the other members (For testing only) and leave only one Gateway, does it behave the same way?
Best regards,
Michel Audi
Hi Michel,
I only tried putting a single gateway into the farm, and yes it uses https. The RDM connections works fine when gateway is in non farm mode.
Let me know if you would like more info.

Hey Joe,
Just got what is in relation with PAM message,I would like to share with you the doc related for how to configure the Gateway farms as the message in Yello clearly mentioning that the PAM service Must be installed for the Gateway farm to work .

Hi Michel,
Thanks, installing the PAM/Hub Service has resolved the issue.
Perhaps the Hub UI could be enhanced to show a warning message when configuring a gateway farm if there is no PAM service configured/functioning. Its also confusing having a dependency on separately licensed module, as installing the PAM service isn't something that a Hub administrator would typically do if there was no intent to use PAM credential capabilities.

Hey Joe,
Thank you for getting back to me. I’m glad this was the issue. Regarding the error prompt, I’ll get back to our dev team to see if this option could be considered as an improvement.
