Hi,
it's been a while since my last report.
we switched our rmds to be external reachable.
since that i have never used offline mode again,
but a collegue in our branch office tried to use offline mode because i forgot to tell him new url.
there is no more a "offline mode" button in rdm-menu, so we cannot switch in offmode.
what has changed?
friday i updated our server to RDM 8.3.3 & RDMS 2.0.3
is there a problem with offmode using that versions?
tried to connect to RDMServer by RDP, started RDM & selected all Options I found with "allow offline mode",
but selection in "Administration - Data source settings" always reset - but the expiration days can be changed
am i doing something wrong or is it a bug?
Kind Regards
Markus

Hi,
This is an issue that we fixed yesterday (no kidding). Could you download this version:

David Hervieux

i would also enjoy a download link to 9-beta ;-)
wish you a relaxing weekend....

Okay, with 8.3.4 Offline-Mode can be activated,
but now i faced a new problem.
we use our rdms with ad-groups & ad-users.
is it possible to cache my credentials in RDM so i can open it offline without connection to AD?
Like windows-login - it also uses cached credentials if any DC is not reachable
Kind Regards
Markus

Hi,
Do you mean cache your user specific settings?
David Hervieux
no
on startup rdm asks for my AD-User-Credentials like Windows on Logon.
If no DC available Windows uses last known valid Credentials for my user,
but RDM keeps prompting because i have no Connection to AD and RDM cannot query the DC
to reproduce:
Use RDM-Server, specify AD-Users/Groups
For Client-RDM you now need a valid User/User-in-valid-Group to get a Connection to RDMS-DataSource.
If you close RDM, disconnect your PC/NB from Network and open up RDM you get asked for your AD-User/Pass
but you can't Login because RDM is not able to check validity.
I think it should - like Windows - cache the last valid password/hash for user X when he/she login to RDM.
But thats RDM-related not Server-related
Kind Regards

Hi,
I will add this to my list. What happen if you cancel, are you able to go offline?
David Hervieux
no
sessions-list keeps empty

Hi,
You're right. This was a side effect of the retry with a bad login. Don't install the v8.4 this morning. I will make a fix and update
David Hervieux
ok,
thx

Hi,
it's now updated
David Hervieux
is it 8.4.0 too?
Kind Regards
Markus

What do you mean? 8.4 does not use the new login API. The 8.4 has the fix for this problem.

Today I can only download 8.4.0 -> so is this the fixed version?
Kind Regards
Markus

Hi,
Yes you can install now. Sorry for the confusion. I wrote that to make sure to have the time to include the fix in the 8.4
David Hervieux
