Devolutions Server LTS Environment

Devolutions Server LTS Environment

Hello!
We are considering using the LTS version of the Devolutions Server (next one based on 2025.X).
How does this work with the other dependent products like Remote Desktop Manager, Gateway, Workspace Plugin? I can't find an official LTS version there.
Do I simply have to install the corresponding "old" versions here? Will they at least still get security updates? Will these versions still be supported?
Is there an official strategy here? For example, the last major version of the previous year will become the LTS version?

Maybe there is already a documentation about it...
Thank you very much for the help!

Hello!

Thank you for reaching out.
You're pretty spot on!

The LTS (we still prefer using the "Stable" mention) is always the previous major.minor latest version. For example, our current Stable version is 2024.3.15.
We recommend matching all our products with the Major and Minor versions (2024.3.xx in this example).

In terms of documentation, we have this article about version management: https://docs.devolutions.net/server/web-interface/administration/configuration/system-settings/version-management/

It does not describe the version matching that we are discussing, but it is a good way to apply it.

Thoughts?

Thank you very much for the quick answer!

Does this mean that we can continue to expect at least security fixes for the older versions of Server, RDM or Gateway?
Thanks again!

Best regards

Hi Markus,

There might be cases when a security fix will not be ported back to the stable version. A good example of this is when we consider the latest version as a proper stable candidate.
I'm aware that my explanation remains a bit vague.
The objective is not to set false expectations...

I hope this makes sense.
