We have a legacy Linux application that requires CP850 to display properly.
This is forcing us to use the deprecated PuTTY option still.
It would be great if you could add the CP850 as an encoding option. And thereby be able to use the proxy and SSH gateway features of the native SSH terminal.
Hello,
Thank you for your request. I created a ticket in our backlog. We will post back here once we have an update.
Best regards,
François Dubois
Hello,
We have added this encoding option internally. It should be available starting from RDM 2025.2.14.0 which we are aiming to release soon.
Please do let us know if the encoding option works properly after you can update to the above-mentioned version.

Michaël Beaudin
Hi Michael
After testing, then we are able to select CP850 as the encoding.
We are able to write CP850 chars, but the chars are not displayed, i have attached a video showing what i mean.
Tested on 2025.2.27.0 64-bit (JIT)
Encoding configuration on the SSH connection
I have also attached the CP850-content.txt file encoded in CP850

Hello,
Thank you for being so patient!
I'm pleased to inform you that version 2025.3.21.0 of Remote Desktop Manager is now available, and it should resolve the issue with the chars.
Please let us know if this works or if you encounter any issues.
Best regards,
Maxim Robert
Hi Maxim,
Using 2025.3.25.0 i can confirm that it now works and we can both see and type the special chars from CP850.
